Thank you Kodaline. My dad was a Garristown born and bred Irishman who came to the UK when he was 16. Sadly we all lost him to Covid here on the 4th JUne 2020 and this song was the first one I turned to. Everytime I hear it I think of my dad but also the words "You brought out the best in me" resonate with how he did bring out the best in me. Wonderful video and thankyou for sharing this
Sorry for you loss. I lost my father to Covid and other complications in August. There is an undefinable melancholy that runs through all Irish music regardless of artist or genre that draws you in. I only noticed this when I put all my Irish stuff in one folder.

I remember I keep playing this when my dog was sick. She's incurable but she fought well. I keep playing this song until the very end. And when she finally left me, I just can't play this song. For almost 7 months, I didn't listen until I finally found the courage to listen to it without bursting into tears. Heart never lies. I used to so wrong about Kodaline, just another boy band that I wouldn't even look at them while watching their music videos. But they prove me wrong, over and over again. One never lies with heart. I used to think they were a front, no one can write lyrics like these, I was very wrong. Very rarely a band can touch your heart like this, it's very difficult. They're more than they seem to be. My respect for this band really increased a lot for them since I first discovered them in 2016, from an indie radio station for the "One Day" that I had to look up this song and the band. I don't believe at first, impossible. But you know life is not impossible in different ways, very touching. Btw, Glad to see that Mark has recovered from COVID and that this performance wouldn't possibly have happened had it not been for COVID. :)
