    I love this idea. I’ve got 2 DD tarps, I’m going to get that mesh tent. Cheers for that.

    I like that setup. I bet that will do wonders at reducing condensation buildup.

    Nice. Siberean on one side and Taut line hitch on other should provide enough tension without needing much rope. Also like a hammock suspension, prob need rain dripping lines.
    Wonder how heavy this would be altogether.
    Enjoying your videos.

      Great ideas there mate! It was a cool little set up when used without the pole! Loved it!
      Thanks so much for watching, and glad you enjoy the videos!
      Have a great week

    Hi Ash, I've only just discovered this tent (and your awesome channel!) and I'm pretty keen on it but I have a question about the floor of the tent where the trekking pole fits. Can you confirm that is actually a hole in the tent floor where the pole goes through to dig into the ground? If so, is there any issue with water coming underneath the floor and up through that hole in heavy rain?
    Cheers, Cam.

      Hi cam! Thanks for checking out my channel mate.
      Yes, it had a little eyelet to put the pile into the ground. I never had an issue with water getting in but suppose that depends where you pitch and how much it rains.
      What I will say is that if you’re 5’11” plus I’d go for the XL size. I found It didn’t have much space for my feet and head with my sleep system. I did a review in my kit playlist
      Hope that helps
      Ash

      @@AshOutdoorsUK Thanks for the reply Ash! Ok cool, that’s good to know. If I was using that the last camping trip I was on, it definitely would have come through. I was just using a Naturehike tent at a National Park campground with a set area to pitch the tent and we got a big storm. There was so much water under the tent it was almost like a waterbed. If I do end up going with the DD Pyramid tent I would go the XL even though I’m only 5’8”. I’m also considering the DD Superlight A Frame version as I do like that style even though it’s a title bit heavier. The reason I’m looking at these tents is because I want to use the mesh inner with a ridge line and tarp for summer camping.
      Keep up the great content mate. Cheers from Down Under.

    You could keep the top of the fly net up with a ridgeline and a shock cord attached to a prussic, right?

    • @AshOutdoorsUK
      @AshOutdoorsUK  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, yes I could try that, I did get it very tight but the sides still dropped. However I have recently used it on a ridge line with the outer and pegged out the guys and it worked really well as the fly sheet attaches to the outer 👍🏼
      Thanks for watching and commenting

      @AshOutdoorsUK  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      monkeyingout hi, yes they are attached. I use them for work and popped out after work to film this 👍🏼

      I use those type work trousers for any bushcraft for those pockets as well as sturdiness. They are ace. Might need to consider shorts too.
