Wish these videos were longer with more details about the horses that were surrendered. Some looked like they were nice horses. The one rolling in the mud was having a good ol time.
that's the ideal situation, the horses get help before they starve or are in pain because the owner knows they don't have the funds to care for them properly but they do have a safe place to bring the horse to. The fear of giving your animal to someone who you think will be a good new owner but ends up scamming you, reselling the horse for profit or sending them to slaughter, is real. Some people give a good impression but are really not good people, they are just good at acting like they are. I also think that they don't press the owners on info because the owners are not keen to be filmed, might be embarassed and honestly, if I was in that situation, I'd be hurting really bad. Some owners do give some information, but most, as far as I've seen, want to have the drop off done as fast as possible, like a bandaid...
I have one criticism is that we don't see enough of the horses, yes there doing a brilliant job and I'm so thankful to them...but please when your speaking be with the horses..
It just tears me up to see these horses being surrendered. This had to be the hardest decision some of these owners ever had to make. I'm so grateful I was able to keep my beloved Arabian, Ariel, till the end of his days, despite my economic hardships. And that he was happy and well cared for until his passing from a stroke at the age of 27. I'm so glad I never had to make this decision. Thank you to Pony Tales and Horse Plus for providing this service to these owners, and making it free of judgements. What matters most is the outcome for these horses.
It’s fantastic that you are able to train another horse rescue to help other people struggling with their horses. The anguish on some of the owners faces was clearly visible and so sad. Great job Horse Plus & Pony Tales & good luck! Xxxx
Hi again How wonderful you are now able to train and pass along what you've learned to help new rescues. What a very special legacy for all the years of your hard work love compassion and life rescue! All one has to do is look in the horse's eyes when they realize they're safe and cared for once again. It's breathtaking to see others whose hearts are true and the sacrifices willingly made. God bless you as you continue on...
It must be incredibly hard to surrender an animal you love. Kudos to those who realise their limitations, and what is best for their loved horse. There should be state funding in the interest of compassion, for the wonderful shelters who receive these beautiful creatures. 💝

The $10,000 grant that we gave ponytails was made possible by one of our donors who passed away and left a portion of her estate to us. She had a passion for helping horses and all animals have a better life. We couldn't think of a better way to continue her legacy of loving animals than to create a mentoring program to help the greatest number of animals. She followed our organization for years but only emailed us twice. Once to ask a question and one other time to update her email on our email list. We are so grateful to her for making this mentoring program possible in continuing to share her love of animals.
Horse Plus Humane Society what a beautiful lady and legacy. Thanks for sharing 🦋🦋🦋
