The way they portray their romance in the film made me feel their love between eachother. I saw in the dance when they fell in love, I saw it when he came running for her. For them not to be together wouldn't make sense. They didn't have to say they were in love because they looked at eachother and *knew*

This is a fantastic movie that beautifully portrays the love between Emma Woodhouse and George Knightly. The lingering gaze, the hesitant-to-pull-away touching, even the kiss scene was amazing. During the dance they were the only ones to not have gloves on, and in that time period it was a big deal to have skin on skin contact. Even if you were engaged it was inappropriate to kiss your fiance. Her kissing him was... scandalous? His grin in response is what kills me. He's a gentleman, rule follower, doesn't take advantage of women, but he kissed her back with even more eagerness. Their relationship is wonderfully captured in both the movie and this video. You were able to outline almost every single meaningful moment between the two, it brought me to tears. Thank you so much for creating this.
Knightley is so madly in love with her. Ugh I've watched this movie 4 times. Their chemistry blew me away. This is one of my favorite edits and I've seen a dozen

Her father always knew the outcome, as great parents often do. He let's Knightley tell Emma what she needs to hear. ♥️ She is so charming and utterly shielded by her good fortune.

Emphasis mine. And I do not see that in AJT's portrayal at all. In other adaptions she's still proper, but also more joyful.
More or less my opinion, as well. Even if it doesnt sound like the majority opinion, i 'm not sure the choice of Ania Taylor-Jones to play Emma was the best. Or there could be another option : ATJ was the right actress, as long as we accept that actually, the movie is more Knighley's portrayal... Knighley is the main character (so handsome, hot and in love that he takes all the space movie and sceen). Hope u'll understand my approximate english (i m french).

I think the perfect portrayal for Mr. Knightley is done by Jeremy Northam. He totally fitted that country gentleman role.
He is not ugly, it’s mostly because of the hair on the side of his face. He’s not extremely attractive as other actors but he is not ugly. :) my opinion :))
I thought the exact opposite, that Johnny Flynn is handsome but Anya is so bug-eyed.
To me both are hot
@@lauriebriggs9705I agree. He is gorgeous. I mean, he's not inhumanly beautiful, but his face is so expressive. He just portrays Knightley's emotional turmoil and confusion about his own feelings so brilliantly without saying anything. I love that we get to see Knightley as a human being and not a drop-dead gorgeous caricature of a romantic lead.
