  • Shlomo Perel was born to in Germany in 1925 to a Jewish family. In 1936, his family moved to Lodz, Poland. Following the outbreak of World War II, Shlomo and his brother fled eastwards to the territories of the Soviet Union. Shlomo was taken into a children's home in Grodno, escaping following the German invasion in 1941. He was captured, and then assumed an identity as an ethnic German. Shlomo was drafted to the German military as a translator, and later sent to a Hitler Youth camp in Germany. After liberation, he reunited with his brother who had survived Dachau, immigrated to Israel, and took part in Israel's War of Independence. Shlomo married Dora and they have children and grandchildren.

BEFORE THAT HITLER WAS THINKING OF JUST DEPORTING THE GERMAN AND EUROPEAN JEWS TO AFRICA, MADAGASCAR. DESPITE WHAT YOU FEEL ITS PROVEN ISLAM HAS ALWAYS AND STILL IS A VIOLENT RELIGION..

Let's not forget the Danes, who got every Jew who wanted to go, safely to Sweden. Let us also remember the Albanians, whose code called "Besa" commands them to treat everyone with equal respect and they hid all the Albanian Jews AND other Jews who heard about this. I believe that Albania was the country which had more Jews after WWII than before. Fact of interest: Although Albania is rather poor and a Muslim country, they do not require a visa to visit Israel.

@Remy4489 you have a very weird sense of logic. Millions of Jews were killed and you want to thank your deity for something that humans did? Your deity could have given Hitler a fatal heart attack in 1930 and a looot of suffering could have easily been prevented. Then we would have something to be thankful for.

Tak thank you, this means a lot to me you say this: I know you know part of life is the serious complications of our species (!!??), it was an extremely complicated relationship for the first years of our lives, she was a genius mind & a great beauty but over time our primary abuser broke her soul & then she got arrested for abusing me.. & I was her unpaid caretaker for many years & saw glimpses of who she used to be some times through her ongoing abuse.. it is life altering when someone who used to be good & brilliant becomes evil & sadistic & cruel & criminal, and some of their innocence shines some times ..I know you know this is a common problem for many people she was diagnosed very late with mental illness probably caused by the abuse. But I greatly appreciate what you say here because she would agree with every single thing I have done with my life since she passed from disease, I am not so sure we die because I think she watches over me & protects me, god bless you & much love for you & yours, shalom: @@parlsuk

What a Man! What a Crazy, interesting and dangerous life this young man was living.. by the seat of his pants and his wit, and only survival instinct to rely on. I so enjoyed the way he told his story... and What a Story! with savvy and with humor. I also caught a glimpse of that wit and humor, in his mischievous smile, as he told of a few close-calls and mishaps. I had to laugh, myself. But he had someone looking after him, and I don't mean his German Youth Organization, friends, or his (so called) adoptive parent... I mean, from "above", if you get my meaning. I mean, he had things 'happen', which could have been very bad for him (like death), but it always came out in-his-favor. He was very Blessed at the time he needed it most. He was still blessed as he became (Jewish) Shlomo again, and started living his real life, keeping in contact with his German Youth Organization friends, and starting his own family. What a Full life he led.
