I've been knitting ... let's say " I've been knitting since before Rav & All garments were knit bottom up / in pieces ..(wait for it !) ON STRAIGHTS ! I digress! My point is that this little looping at the end of the row to weave in the ends is the first truly new to me technique I've seen in more than 10 yrs! It's one I'll use every time I cast off - Thank you! I'm really enjoying your podcasts and tutorials - Your explanations are clear , concise & at a perfect pace . I'm excited about knitting socks with all these magical fixes you've given us❣️Lisa R ( hubs has commercial free lol)
Aww...thank you SO MUCH!! You have no idea how much your feedback means to me. Not to mention how helpful it is to know that the tutorial is...helpful!!
Hi. I am halfway through your video and need to say thank you. ❤️. I took a class on how to knit with two circulars and have learned so much more from you. I’m feeling good that I will become a sock knitter. Big hugs.
Earthtonesgirl Podcast I honestly cant thank you enough for taking the time to make this video I have made 2 pairs of socks so far and am working on my third knitting socks was on my knitting wish list and thanks to you I have done it so once more a huge thank you xxx
I have always used 2 circulars for my socks and mittens... Your tutorial was very informative, and I learned a few new tips! I can’t wait to try them... I enjoyed this very much! Thank you!
Thank you so much Leone for your lovely comment and for watching my podcast/tutorial!!! I'm so happy to hear that it was so helpful/useful to you!!! Stay tuned for the next one!!! 😊
Hi Denise, I just came across your podcast a few days ago and i have now caught up with you. Just watched your 2 video on two needle sock knitting! And I enjoyed them so much, they were so clear and easy to follow, I have been knitting for about 65years, but love trying new ways of knitting, so going to buy needles today and have a go, don’t bother how long the video are, just keep going.
Thank you!!Oh I can’t thank you enough. This was a delightful video! I now have a one stop video to reference back to, (safety net). Your little precious son is so happy about his new sock that mommy made for him. God Bless
You are a good instructor! I literally stopped crocheting my project while watching you, lol. I haven’t made socks yet, due to being intimidated by using double pointed needles (which I don’t like) and very skinny needles too. But, by watching & learning with you, I am looking forward to “try working” with two circulars at the same time. It would have been beneficial if you would have “zoomed in” on these techniques to see better.
Hi thanks for a great tutorial! I finally feel comfortable with starting a sock project . I will be referring back to your sock tutorials to guide me through my first sock knitting experience . Thank you !
Thank you . This is so helpful. I fear sock knitting. I have mushed my way through two pairs so far. Thank you so much for this tutorial. Don't worry about the length of the tutorial. We can come and go as we please. Yes Indeed helpful
Great video! Thanks so much!! Wanted to try the two circulars, but wasn't sure how to get it started. So thanks again! Love your podcasts and you are a great instructor. Looking forward to the next video in the series! 😊 Hugs from Canada!!
Awesome video! I had made only 1 sock and stopped after that experience. I did not use 2 circular needles and it was very frustrating. I tried the Fish Lips Kiss heel, but being so inexperienced I had some difficulty with it. I suppose the more I try to make socks, then that will become easier. I will be watching sections of this video again for the heel, the toe, and the Kitchner stitch to close the toe. I really had a lot of trouble with that as well, trying to teach myself without any video demonstration. Seeing it done as it's being done versus snapshot segments makes it look so much easier. I will be back for more of your videos! Thank you so much for this video!
Just found you! I'm already learning some techniques. I've been knitting socks for years because I like the end results but don't especially enjoy the process. I wish it could be more enjoyable and not so tedious. The finished socks are a joy to see and wear or gift and that outweighs the negative. I have tried a few techniques, toe up, cuff down, circ's and dpn's. They all work for me in different ways. Just saying. Enjoy your podcasts very much.
Thank you so much for your feedback and comment! I'm happy you're enjoying the class. Some people enjoy the entire process and some don't. I hope you find a happy medium for your sock knitting.
These sock tutorials are wonderful! I thought I just would not be able to stomach using dpns so socks were not in my future (not that I haven’t picked up some and some sock yarn along my travels 😏). But I 💜 circulars so this technique seems totally doable!!! Thank you soo sooo much for sharing!
It was very informative Denise, thank you for sharing your knowledge. I won’t bore you with my sock story, I do have a question.. I’m trying the 2 needle , FINALLY got,it to work but I’m using 2 40 inch cables for this sock, will,it work out in other parts of the sock . I’m going to get 24 inch but wanted to see fin could do this and like the technique. Thanks
Thank you so much Denise. I have now mastered this technique as a result of this wonderful tutorial. Didn't have a problem magic loop knitting but I wanted to try this as an alternative. I'd like to ask what would be the shortest cable to use in order for it to work? Also as I've never felt my hands to be in a comfortable position magic looping two at a time, I'm going to try this with 2 to see how I get on. Thanks again for giving up your time. I'm also excited to try the weaving in method for scrappy socks, it looks brilliant 🌟🌟🌟
Hi Elaine, You are so very welcome!!! You have no idea how happy it makes me to hear that tutorial was so helpful to you!! I'm thrilled right now!! Regarding your question, it really depends on what you find comfortable. I can't go shorter than a 16" cable. Anything smaller than that and my hands will hurt. It's another reason I can't used 9" circs. My hands just cramp up. Trust me you will love weaving your ends in!!! I use that technique on everything I can apply it too!! Again, Thank you so much and thank you for watching and for your lovely comment!!
Thank you so much for this video Denise. I love knitting socks. I’ve used dpns but mostly magic loop. I could never quite figure out the 2 needle method. I really appreciate it!! Also the weaving...I never could get that either even after watching other videos a few times. But you explained it so well. I can’t wait to try it. Great job. I really like your podcast. xo Marianne PS...my husband grew up in Yonkers PPS...can’t believe some idiot gave you a thumbs down...please, please ignore them, you were great
Great video, Denise! I've watched both of the tutorials once, but will now sit with my needles and yarn, to re-watch them, and start on my first pair of socks!!! A bit off topic, but still sock related... have you ever purchased a sock set (with mini) online and, once it arrived, you thought the yarn was too beautiful to use for socks? (I have :-/ )
Hi Jane, Thank you so much for your lovely comment! And of yes!! Most of the yarn I buy is to beautiful to use for socks!!! Thats how I keep getting into trouble!!! 😂
Wonderful , Denise ! Thank you !!! the ending with your son ...... the adorable toes...... the precious giggle..... THEE BEST !!!! how sweeeeeeet ! marcia
Hi Mary, I’m so happy that the tutorial was so helpful!! To answer your question, I use/recommend 24 inch long needles... for me the 16 inch are to short and the length of the needle itself is also to short and 32 inch length is way to long, gets in your way and tangles easily. This is all in my experience!!! Hope that helps. 👍🏾🧦🧶❤️ And Thank you so much for watching my podcast!!!
One question, do you have to cut the working yarn when you start the heel (If you dont do contrast color heel)? I´m dpn user but awesome tutorial, thank you! =)
Thank you so much for watching my podcast and for your question. No I do NOT cut the working yarn when I start the heel. I just continue to work the short row heel with the same yarn all the way through. I hope that answers your question. If you’ve any other questions please feel free to post them here or send me an email...😊
I will be covering two at a time socks a little further down the line. As for Knitting one sock inside the other. That I will not be doing. I’ve only seen instructions for that one time and the pattern was over 20 to 25 pages long. I will leave that to someone else to cover. lol...
Hi Denise, Love your podcast. IMHO, I think episode 9 is better to see how you are weaving in your ends. I could really see what you were doing in that episode. I was having a hard time seeing what was going on in this one.
Hi Denice I have a problem with the socks I’m doing it’s a knit 3 purl 1 I’ve got a gap in the first I’ve put it down for now so could you help me fix it please I lived in NewZealand
Hi Beverley, I would be happy to help you but you have to give me a bit more information. Send me an email and I'll see what I can do. There is a link in the description box.

So helpful! And maybe the best view of someone doing the Kitchener stitch that I’ve seen. That giggle at the end is wonderful!
Aww...thank you SO MUCH!! You have no idea how much your feedback means to me. Not to mention how helpful it is to know that the tutorial is...helpful!!

Thank you. Super tutorial. I am a sock knitter novice and this was great to see. I find dkns too hard and 2 circular needles look much easier.😊

What are you doing before turning & beginning the short rows? Did you M1 or did you decrease, cuz you didn’t say or show us?
Hi Denise, thank you for this great tutorial. I have one question.......what length cable do you recommend?
Hi Mary,
I’m so happy that the tutorial was so helpful!!
Thank you Denise. I have 40cm needles and not enjoying this method of knitting socks. I'll go up 60cm & see how that goes.
One question, do you have to cut the working yarn when you start the heel (If you dont do contrast color heel)?
I´m dpn user but awesome tutorial, thank you! =)
Thank you so much for watching my podcast and for your question. No I do NOT cut the working yarn when I start the heel. Could you do 2 at a time socks with the 2 needles?
Yes! I will definitely be adding a 2 at a time socks segment in the near future. Stay Tuned!!!
Hello do u have the tutorial of you finishing off the cuff?
No unfortunately I do not. My tutorials are for cuff/top down socks. But I"m sure you can find Toe up sock tutorials on TH-cam.
Hi Denise, Love your podcast. IMHO, I think episode 9 is better to see how you are weaving in your ends. I could really see what you were doing in that episode. I was having a hard time seeing what was going on in this one.

Hi Beverley,
I would be happy to help you but you have to give me a bit more information. Send me an email and I'll see what I can do. There is a link in the description box.
Hi Denice the first knit stitch looks like a ladder I’ve tried to pull the wool firmer on the first and second stitch
This tutorial would show you how to avoid that ladder.

How do you do 2socks on two needles
Hi Coleen,
