i was calling Sir Henry,Sier Henry back in 87.. loved Steve the clock or the god steve cauthen and Sir Henry RIP.. i loved going to warren place to meet sir HRA Cecil and his horse back inh the 80s and 90s. met Steve many many time i had a man crush :) great days..best ever in racing not like now with obrien with 20 horses in every race
Oh So Sharp was an absolute monster on Oaks day. Triptych was better than 9 out of 10 Oaks winners but OSS just kicked her out of the way. She was a funny looking animal with a very long back which gave her sort of "stretched limo" appearance. In these more enlightened times she would probably have been kept in training and won a Gold Cup and an Irish St Leger.
That’s without doubt one of the most impressive oaks wins
Great to see again. 1985 was the year I got into horse racing I was 12. Triple crown for Oh So Sharp and Derby for Slip Anchor. Henry Cecil a legend.
And Steve Cauthen.
Biggest certainty to ever look through a bridle on that day ! Great memory , cheers for posting 🙏
👍🏴
Wonderful to seeing that fantastic racemare Triptych in this race...:-)
Triptych was great. almost always in the top three from 85 to 87. I thought her peak was in 86 but was overshadowed by dancing Brave.

Oh So Sharp beat a half decent field which is probably more than can be said about Love.
Dance Machine,the dam of Lammtarra.
No, his dam was Snow Bride, promoted winner of the '89 Oaks.
Dance Machine was Halling.
Dubian must have been some whack to lose a tooth.
Triptych was a good horse, Oh So Sharp was a better horse
