That’s hypnotic. I love it. I’ll definitely be trying that with my lot.

Great reference video. Question about flat back with plié: I know the knees are supposed widen to allow the torso to lower but I noticed that some of the dancers are supinating and/or lifting heels of the floor. Is that correct form? Trying to clarify to make sure I do them and teach them correctly. Thank you!

The heels are supposed to stay on the floor as well as all toes. We are just "lifting the arches" in order to open the knees just wide enough so the torso can be lowered in between. Hope this helps. Happy Dancing!

Heels and all toes are supposed to stay on the floor. Ideally, the dancer just lifts the arches/instep to open the knees just enough so the torso fits in between, no more!

Strengthens and fortifies the body. Classical modern technique created by Lester Horton.

Lovely. The chap seems the only one who keeps himself square and lifted out of his hips. Orange girl you collapse your back in the back bends. Yuk. And all the girls what in with flat back deep paralelled plié. Why do you go so low that you feet must concave and you thighs go broad. Do you not feel it out off it looks and never mind your alignment. Yuk. Hope you take heed.

I can promise you that you don't always look perfect, either. Dancers are on a journey and maybe they do not all have total body awareness yet. There's better things to do than to "yuk" people on the internet.
