Tartarian Gates can spawn under building and instantly destroy them, the amount of games I've won (and lost) just because of this ability is insane. Earthquake is just broken.
The main way to counterplay against Earthquake is to get masons in the Heroic Age and remember to build Barracks/Longhouses or another form of military buildings around your TCs to soak up the damage.
i would put the implosion as an S+ tier for just how cool and impactful it is/looks. As a kid that was my supreme jam by far. Extremely good looking and powerful ability. You really use to feel like you were casting and actual god power on the map. Absolute banger
Gaias Forest is one of my favorites even though its not super strong it has been pretty useful for me. Really good on maps with few trees obviously, but you can also use it to block pathways and disrupt your opponent on maps with lots of chokepoints, deny your enemy gold deposits by making the trees grow around it or easily patch a hole in your walls when you dont have a worker nearby
Loving the content on this channel, after years of avoiding pvp I have decided to try and get into it with the upcoming re-release, but wow its such a learning curve, would love to see some detailed build orders for all the civs with some basic pvp info and macro/micro control tips as well. Learning to control 2 raiding teams in the classical age, defend against your enemies raid, while growing your economy is a level of multitasking that is crazy to me. Something on that would be awesome, keep doing what you're doing!
Barrage and CTA, both S tier, free units are great particularly useful for gaining map control instantly, barrage is more flexible can be used to gain army advantage like restoration or take down unfinished settlements like 1500hp i think and even hunt deletes or goats which is a cheaky use of it. Barrage also excels vs tox/chokunu/TA can instantly kill like 12 toxotes even restoration can't save them.
Watching this reminds me something about StarCraft Brood War. The races itself were imbalanced but the players through matchups create their own natural balance. I wonder if instead of nerfing, why not maintain OP civs OP and focus on boosting civs that have deficiencies. The same can be said for god powers. For example, Nu Wa’s revive villager can be turned into villager cloning like the ones with soldier cloning. Or that Forest Fires area of effect are larger, wider and does more damage to economic buildings than military buildings and that buildings as well as units can catch fire damage overtime.
I hear it from different tier lists often that citadel is a bad heroic god power and should maybe be moved earlier and that shifting sands is a super strong classical god power and maybe should be moved to later - sounds like a swap match made in heaven.
Maybe we can see Forest Fire as not just an offensive power, but an attack on the enemy's economy? Like, by denying them some of the wood that's relatively safe and forcing them to send vils out sooner? You'd have to use it almost immediately after age up though. Which ruins that one in twenty game you mentioned
Use barrage against siege weapons like catapults. Kills them more or less instantly stops an important building from being destroyed when your other units are off fighting somewhere else
Traitor and Chaos are both bad IMO. Traitor gives you one unit. Only useful in situations where the balance of power between armies is fragile anyways. And the Unit it is used on will be in the enemy formation and can get killed easely. for a distractions its not worth being a heroic ability. Chaos is samey. Even if you do not think traitor as bad, chaos should be the same. Instead of converting one unit, the enemy loses 3-4 units. My gripe with this ability is, that it's value does not increase over time. Why? because the neutral units just stand there without upgrades. In heroic age they will not do much because of that, and less so in mythic age, but using it in mythic age "kills" higher value units at the cost of the neutral unit's being even less impactful. This would change if the converted units would retain their upgrades jsut as traitor does. Then at least both would be in somewhat equal value considering chaos can backfire.
You could show what the Power does First, with a image of the flavour text, and then categorize. I dont remember correctly what every Power does or what are the numbers
@@mooseaom Nice. And one more thing, put the tier list in Black mode, plzzz. I watch in the dark, and the white board kills my eyes. Thanks, aprecciate your work
I never really understood why Bolt (killing one unite) is better than Kronos Ability which lets you get rid of a building and that for 3 times. You say yes you can just rebuild it but with units you can just make new one too???
Bolt wastes the resource. Deconstruction doesn't. If you kill a colossus, you wasted them like 30 favour and 300 gold. If you deconstruct a palace, yes you set them back one palace, but if it isn't the most critical palace ever, they'll likely still be able to recover easily and you only wasted a bit of time. Also hence why it's so much stronger on docks on water maps - they might not have a bunch of docks right next to each other, so cutting off ship production and ship resource dropoff at a point is way more devastating.
The only way to cancel another player's research is to destroy the building doing the research, prerequisites don't matter once the research is started
You would do well to setup a strong basis of what each tier is before going into this, a hard phrase for each like for X, the GP is the whole reason you would go for this god. Or For S these GP are ones that I soley see as being too powerful and should be nerfed, or for C these GP are too shallow in use/weak to make an impact in a game. The arbitrary setup leads to a lot of cross-list skews and as your mind sets what is what it slightly shifts from set to set.
Your the 2nd TH-cam I’ve seen said the same thing about ranking them per age because y’all can’t rank them all together when in reality you can but it all depends on what you’re ranking them…..for example one of the categories could be how good the power is upon availability so for example the shockwave would still be S tier regardless of the ranking because of the type of ranking you’re doing not sure if I explained myself properly lol
man if you wouldnt be able to bell your farms on the town center, it would be really good, even worth to advance instead of being "forced" to go ragnarok 90% of the games cuz fimbul is not thay great.
fimbul in team games where there is constant fighting is great. it basically means no eco for a couple people for the duration of that time. meaning no military spam.
@@SolitaryLark Yup. Low tier people don't get why harassing and raiding are so important, just like how villager idle time during fimbulwinter is good.

One detail a lot of people overlook with Great Journey is that it also increases the speed of your caravans, so that's a big boost in gold revenue.
hades sentinels should be S just cuz of the cool sound they make.
ZUMMMM
Agree!
I use Gia's forests exclusively as a barrier. Plug up choke points with trees that most can't easily deal with.
I really do appreciate the way that you structured and edited this video. I wish that more tier lists in relation to this game were made like yours.
Best God Power is definitely O Canada 🇨🇦

What are you talking about, implosion does very little damage.
I remember using bolt to kill the son of osiris and nidhog, but that was years ago when the game first released.
I remember having it used against my fully loaded transport ship once a long time ago too.
Do 1,5 or 3k dmg against a titan. Thats neat if needed
Super fun watch. I know zero about AoM competitive, but I greatly look forward to learning. Really glad I found your channel.

Yeah, it's surprisingly versatile
Love your videos. I only play against bots, so it's fun to learn some things I wasn't aware of and how they're used in PVP
Why don't play agains human ? There si a Lot of "noobs only" ganes/server

Glad to hear it! I'm hoping the hype of retold will bring a lot of the old player base back. I'll keep those ideas in mind!

Oh how I miss the days of infinite resources from Lure
Broken lure would be S++++ tier 😂
Nice video! Glad to see AOM content still coming
Surround your titan with sphinx and cast eclipse to win a titan on titan fight, even if you only have half your hit points left.
Thank you for creating content about this fantastic game. Isn't it getting a re-release this year?
ye
There is a game in development but they haven’t given a release date, I’m hoping it’s this year!

Call to arms is bonkers tho
Maybe I need to brush up on my Chinese god powers😅
@@mooseaom I'm no expert, but I think it's very strong for early aggression especially, since it basically doubles your early game army.
Thunderbot is like a fly swatter
Gaia's Forest is defenetly S+ you can make perfect defance with it
You still can bolt the titan if needed, it was either for 3k or 1.5k dmg
Hi! great vid man, interesting! Just had an FH match wiith you - requested you as a friend, see you next time!
For the past 21 years I've thought the spider god power was worthless garbage so how could it possibly be in S
Picking off 12 units in a 1v1 can be very strong. Even just 4 with the first use can hard win an early fight
How do the unique researches measure up for each god. I like Thor's Pig sticker for the elephants. Bacchanalia was good too
Keep up the good work mate. Your channel will surely grow larger organically.
Thanks for the kind words

doesnt cancel the age up. denies a myth unit though.
