Your dog actually gives a good sense of scale with the SCX6. I always get a smile when she runs through in front of the camera.

I installed the Treal overdrive gears in my SCX6 and it made a big difference in the rig's ability to climb obstacles that are close to its vertical limit. Just be sure to shim the diff when you install them so they don't strip out like the stock gears. 👍🏽

I was debating on these, but went with the Swampers for the fact that I don't really like the look of Hyrax all that much. Nice driving by the way!

Love the videos and the rig. I overdrive the front on just about all my rigs and just started to underdrive the rear on some of my trx-4’s especially my defender’s.

Those Prolines look like they work well. Nice video! I've been toying with the idea of getting an SCX6, especially now that there are more tires/parts available for them, and it does look like a lot of fun to play with.

I had to decide between scx6 and an xmaxx. I know they both have a unique purpose and place but had to say no regrets with the xmaxx.. Almost wish now this video was created earlier 👍
XMAXX first, unless you have absolutely no room for one
@@DanBrando wound up building a second xmaxx with all the leftover spares from the upgrades, no regrets, such a rush to bash them!
If gas prices get any better. Planning on making a Multi state road trip. I'll be bringing my 4ws capra. That will be one of many places I'll be visiting.

Really enjoy your videos. Hyrax are my normal goto tires. However I am currently trying out a set of Raptures on my Capra. They do fantastic on hard rock but they just chew up loose rocks and lose traction.
Looking good, are you running with just 1 batterypack for weight saving? I allways keep 3 packs strapped inside to have backup out trailing. Agree this platform is super fun and yes, so much scaled impression. Cheers.
I bought an SCX6 used today, green jeep body is cracked on every side lol. It's alright. I was hiking in the mountains in Utah and seen mountain lion poop, I had enough hiking at that point lol.
I built a tube chassis .. intended to use YETI xl axles.. then it stops being made.

I've got tires, shocks, 2 speed trans, driver, winch, etc... just needed axles !
Cool to watch, but I think 1/10 scale is big enough for me. I'm thinking of getting a 1/18 or 1/24 scale next, so, in the opposite direction! LOL

The Hyrax still need to support a bunch of weight but they seem to grab better than stock. I think foams are going to play a big part in performance and suspension setup will be critical. It's funny but despite its size, the SCX6 is not much more capable than a lot of tenth scale rigs. I mean, where its tires and overall size is an asset, the weight and high cg seem to hold it back. I can't say for sure, I don't own one, but it really looks cool and gets over some gnarly trails. Would I like to pick up one of these beasts - in a heartbeat! Thanks for the video 👍

I’m scx6 tire shopping as we speak! Do u like the super swamper( I know it’s one of your favorites) or the hyrax? I plan on using 3d printed inserts that I bought from I think squid inserts.what motor combo do u recommend?

I love this thing. If I could afford one I'd snag it but the wife would choke me out for spending that kind of money at one time on an rc. That being said, a real welded shorty stinger bar with an actual skid would look sick on that thing. I wonder if the normal brazed stuff would hold up with the weight of that thing. Make one that looks like a Poison Spyder BFH.
what is the scx6 battery setup? 4s? or 6s? i thought 120amp esc is 4s max but i see two battery trays

Nice. Have you had any experience with the 1:10 scale SCX? I thought they would have more choices but it’s pretty much the Jeep. I’ve been thinking about getting one there on sale right now so at that price is a good deal.

My first time having overdrive…OMFG!!! It’s a damn “cheater rig”. It’s an “unfair advantage”. My Honcho’s old body was nothing but a big beautiful heavy load of bling that induced tipping. The Cliffhanger body and the Vitavon overdrive gear set are the game changers. My Honcho is precise, durable and capable. An RC version of an Ibex. AND with stock wheels and tires! Overdrive and an improved suspension and steering system makes them better. I think I’ll let the stock tires wear out before I get new ones. AND if I wait - new and better tires will be waiting for me. And I save money. Something you poor sobs need to think about. I think my modified Honcho Pro HonchoMacarra would kick your Jeep’s butt…😁
