I know this is like a 2+ year old comment, but what you described re: glitch/trap songs _is_ what a remix is. A remix is a work made by taking a song, or samples from one, and rearranging it (sometimes adding new parts in, such as electronic beats or glitch sounds). Very much the musical equivalent of blackout poetry or magazine collages. I would describe this song more aptly as a cover, since it it's more of an original composition based on another work. It can get tricky in cases where a song is covered as _part of_ a remix, but ultimately it depends on what the intent was. Anyway, no need to compare completely different things to claim one is superior! They each have their own unique sounds and drawbacks, even if one genre isn't for you. But that said, this is a gorgeous cover and by far my favorite version of the song.
I don't get why people think Pale King was in the wrong here. PK stopped Soul Master because he was infected by the Radiance in the first place. Radiance showed him dreams of immortality, so he started killing off innocent bugs and stealing their soul, while protesting the PK. He's the equivalent of a mad scientist gone rogue
80s Soul Master😳 FR tho, the transition between calm but menacing on the organ and how stripped back that was into turning the grittiness (don't know the right term) up in the organs sound to prepare for the transition for an all out synth boss was absolutely insane. I love the addition of a drum beat to the boss fight, and I cant tell which segment I like better!
I consistently finding myself coming back to this song every now and again, even after having first listened to it the couple of years back it had come out. This cover is really exceptional, thank you so much for your work here, if you might ever come back to these late comments, you've done a fantastic job. I have a particular fondness for this song in the first place, but each cover put out from this channel is really special to me, I will listen to them all for some time to come. I hope to see them on Spotify some day, but I am happy they exist at all.

I played ori, really doesn’t tbh. When comparing the two, hollow knight absolutely destroys ori in terms of the depth of its lore and the feeling of dread you have when playing hollow knight
