African American visitor here. I happened upon this video surfing TH-cam for music/dance videos of Suriname for my cultural blog. I LOVE this song and the women's clothing and hair styles.
Please share what "puu mi a dede" means . I assume that "Jesosi" means "Jesus" and "mi" means "me". Also, what language is this and is this a traditional song or a newly composed song? Thanks in advance for your responses. God bless you.

Hi Azizi. puu mi a dede means: He rescued me/ pulled me out from the death. there are 2 dialect languages that they speak. it is " Aucaans and Saramacaans but I cannot really say which language is which. hope this helps:)

Here are a few Surinamese Gospel artist such as: Eugene Main, Epee (The level crew), The Messengers (Siphora en Farello), Byciel Watsaam and other young artists like: Asgar Koster (Gafa ) which is a very popular song among the youths and Emanuel Sanvisi. and further more you have this artist who sings about spreading peace, positivity and collaboration : Silent-Samen. I love his songs:)
