The 40 Year Anniversary of Jem in 2025 is approaching, and we want even more of Jem! Please write a petition to different toy making companies everywhere, & ask them to bring back all of the Jem dolls, especially the Starlight Girls dolls.
This right here is why I love Jem the most. I know I'm not alone when I say this, but the live action remake isn't always will be not only an abomination, but a great insult to Jem.

This video definitely features some of the best, most crisp animation in the entire series. The song is definitely one of the greatest as well, though I feel Kimber should have sung it since this track is such a personal one for her. That would have made this song just that much better.

At 1:07 it says: Dear Diary If I could only tell someone about Jem's secret it would make things so much simpler. Poor Rio. I don't know how he can keep his heart from breaking. What I love about this show is how raw they are about some of the topics they cover. They don't sugar coat things. Especially the episode about the new girl who got addicted to drugs.
That's one of the reasons I love this show so much is because they don't sugarcoat things or make things feel like lighter issues than they actually are. Especially in Alone Again. It's definitely one of the best episodes
The last episode with the song they sing when Ba-Nee finds her dad makes me cry so hard. It basically is a goodbye to her but also the viewers because they're singing that it's not the end but another beginning. I lose it everytime I listen/watch that episode.

I also love in the comics how a romance between her and Stormer happened. Back in the 1980s on the show it would be unheard of to do that. I know some fans have mixed feelings about that because of her original romance with Sean in this particular episode, but I personally think it's wonderful either way. Granted I only have only read the first six issues of the comic series.

I know this is a late comment but did you know that same episode had a reprise of Dear Diary near the end? While it's not the whole song it's the ending of the song without any audience applause. You could easily edit the ending together what what you have to remove the audience in the ending!
It seems to me it is an average Jem's song. I like the music and the voices a bit . But I don't like the Lyrics : they are too simple and about a diary.The Lyrics should have been about Kimber's feelings (Sean Harrison, her hopes about life,...) not about a book.
Leonard Euler, how about Kimber using the "diary" (for effect of the cartoon's "canon" SHE WROTE this ditty on the floor after getting "emotionally beaten" that night and getting "serious counseling" by "the spirit of her Mother") as a "metaphor" for the pouring of her feelings unto that notebook (in '15 that would've been a custom-designed red iPad with the words Kimber "Red" on the back and a royal blue stripe [guess for whom...] on the right side)? How's this for "attention to detail"? The 1st person who entered Jacqui Synergy's room after she wrote the song the next morning was Carmen Raya, the only one band member who's not connected to Kimber either by blood or contract (fostered), which was "the right thing" 'cause she'd be the one in "the right frame of mind" for Kimber to accept anything "needed to be said". Carmen was "astonished" how Kimber took the "beating" (that's in Kim's DNA...). IRL, good or bad emotional experiences is one of the multiple (some of the most classic too) ways songwriters get their "muse" to write (just ask Taylor Swift, of today's younger generation...). Just read some of the things an "eagle-eyed" Pop Person wrote here that were included in the animation. Don't take this song on just its' own, take it in the context of the action of the cartoon episode, then you would understand it's "not so silly anymore"...

BTW, a revisited version would have her skin turn into "her 1st life" Caucasian tone, even with the metallic purple mane and what she wears (she'd give her headband to "Carmen Raya", which I could explain if you ask me nice to...).
Leonard Euler, on the particular incident on the "Scandal" episode logic (on both IRL and in storytelling) tells you the best person to talk to after suffering in someone is one who's NOT RELATED by blood or fostering (like in this case with Carmen Raya and Kimber) 'cause it does make Kimber more receptive (a trusted psych, if you will..). It would care for her gray skin and lack of eyelids if she appeared at you not knowing who she was beforehand 'floating in mid air", as Carmen Raya did accidentally when she was trying to retrieve the orchid plant her father took to "put the foot on Jerrica's door", if you will at the very start of "The Talent Search II". Which would also mean there was no physical connection between both ladies, but it would be an issue the writers should've explored further, like "the apology" (something she has proven several times she could do on her own very well, even in "that state") I always figure Jacqui Synergy needed to give Carmen Raya the night after the concert for "scaring the daylights out of her".. I'm still wondering the kind of fan you seem to be 'cause those things are what makes one care enough for the characters of any writing, on letters or pictures, static or animated... That's what happens when you become so passionate about your own entertainment (some can, some simply can't). PS: NOW I understand where you're coming on the JS and Carmen Raya link, even as what I've said here is still valid... Carmen became "the right hand" of Jerrica (in either guise) from THE SECOND HE SAW HER. Piri Carroll You are welcome, these come from a DVD that was done from 35mm film scans back in 2004 something that most older cartoons don't get.
