  • I made this video for the haters but I end up showing a couple of tips to disconnect field-style hydraulic connectors when they are pressure-locked and the pressure cannot be released.

What if I don’t have the quick attach loader? Can I still swap bucket out for a grapple?

There always is a provision to remove your bucket. Pull alongside a company like EverythingAttachments.com and tell them what you have and they can set you up. Thanks for watching!

You need to watch the video on how to release the pressure on hydraulic systems when disconnecting couplers!

The male and female ends on the grapple were connected together at a lower temperature in the prior winter which is what created the pressure just in the grapple's hydraulic lines. Aside from the nifty way I showed how to disconnect farm/Agg-style quick couplers in this video, in this case, the only other way is to crack open a hydraulic line on the grapple. In another video, I show how to use a torch to open up frozen Agg quick couplers. th-cam.com/video/YeXw_S6vCBw/w-d-xo.html

Looks like there is some land work to come! Is all snow gone by now?

Sure has, Joe. We still have ice, but I'm in boat-fixing mode now.

Is it normal for the male end on the tractor to shot out some fluid when hooking up? does the tractor need to be off? I'm going from a skid steer to a kioti and this happened when I tried hooking up my grapple, I didn't want to get fluid everywhere so I wanted to ask someone first. Thank you

Michael, in this video I had detached the grapple when it was cold in the early winter. Come spring when I shot this video, the temperature was much warmer and the ambient temperature had created pressure in the grapple’s hydraulic lines. As a result, you see me using a wrench and a hammer to pop the lines apart as well as my slamming the male line down to release the rest of the pressure so I could hook up with the tractor’s third function hydraulic lines. In relatively steady ambient temperatures the tractor can be left running as the valves stop hydraulic pressure from building up in the lines. However, anytime the lines are difficult to attach, it is because either the tractor side or the attachment side of the hydraulic lines has pressure in it, and as a result, operators with the farm-style hydraulic quick attachments will slam the male side down to open up the detent and release the excess pressure in the lines. If there is pressure on the tractor side, then hook up the tractor’s male side to the attachments female side first so that you can slam the attachment’s male side down again to release pressure and attach it. Another video you can watch is when things are cold and the farm-style quick attachments are too cold to work right. Check it out. th-cam.com/video/YeXw_S6vCBw/w-d-xo.html

@@MinnesotaEric Thank you for the info. I got out today to fiddle with it again and found out the connecters on my grapple are just a hair bigger than on tractor so it wouldn't have worked anyways. Got a new set ordered, will be giving it another go once those are in.

@@michaeljenkins3131 If you're concerned about it, you can fit skid-steer-style-quick-attach connectors on your attachments and tractor as well.

Hey Eric take a couples palets 3 or 4 and you will see better . have good day

Be even better with a ground guide, but a well designed SSQA tapers the sides so the loader self-centers making it easier to attach even if visibility is limited.
