@@AmnesiacFizelyeah I always say “if ds2 was a stand-alone game called scholar of the first sin not dark souls then it would’ve been considered a better masterpiece than ds1” ds1 doesn’t deserve it’s fame bc of how clunky and unfinished that game is. Ds2 reminds me of dragons dogma. A little clunky but absolutely amazing variety in gameplay
I’ve finished this game a couple of times and I loved it tbf, no matter the not so good parts, all the issues just become a funny memory to remember and patience is definitely needed with this game… it really has grown on me 😅
Is it a good game? Overall no Does it have good bits? Yeah Is it my favorite souls game? No be cause dark souls 3 exists Do I still love it and have sunk a thousand hours into it? Fuck yes
Yeah its def worth experiencing and coming back to but never worth talking about Unless you're talking about the fact IT HAS FUCKING KARATE IN IT BABY WOO
Uh what? Overall it’s an amazing game. Wtf are you smoking. Ds3 is the overall No in this scenario. That game is a bare bones lazy ass cash grab. It’s fundamentally surface level in basically everything it does and it has practically no real replay value. You’d only really replay it bc you like it not bc there’s actually anything to do.
I think dark souls 2 is amazing with its world design but I feel like bloodborne fails at a few things that gets corrected in sekiro like the fact that bloodborne is mostly themed around 1 thing and gets insanely repetitive plus the limited weapons and most of them aren't even good so sekiro doubled down on that and made you have 1 singular weapon, which was meant to be mastered and it worked out well
@Fizel I only ever used ludwig 2h greatsword and treated it exactly like I do every souls game. Which is me never locking on and dodging attacks and getting hits in. I enjoyed the different areas and how it went from blood frenzy to aliens, and thought the dlc was exceptional. Ds2 is a masterpiece of story, level design, and atmosphere. This gets overlooked because people can't get good with the controls and accept ADP as a stat
@@AmnesiacFizel put bloodborne up with ds2 as the best in the series bc both knew exactly what they were doing with their gameplay. Bloodborne knew what it was doing with fast paced combat and thats why you don’t get stupid shit in it like sekiro’s grab attacks or elden rings artificial difficulty and they added the chalice dungeons to the series which were new and a cool idea which they then dumped for no reason. Tho if it weren’t for bloodborne’s amazing soundtrack and gothic aesthetic then I probably wouldn’t be able to replay it
@Don José soul memory is only a pbp mechanic which itself is a problem and needs to be removed from every soulsborne game. Estocs are just as good as any other weapon. Movesets are divers and fun. DAYUM that's actually impressive as hell, I only managed to plat Ds3 but I also got told by almost everyone to never touch this game and now I'm planning on beating the DLCs too with my friend since we enjoyed it so much
@@AmnesiacFizel Thank you. nice job on getting the play for Ds3. There is a part in the DLC that I gave up on and that’s the frigid outskirts. I tried it and decided that section wasn’t worth it.
The only thing outright bad about this game is the technical level. (Everything holding the gameplay, mechanics, scenery together in this ramshackle engine)
This game would be amazing if it ran like dark souls 3 or pray for the gods above Elden ring, cuz in the state it is you can kinda feel the jank so i get what you mean
@@AmnesiacFizel Right?! The story is great and a little more relatable as it's more focused on the peoole living in Drangleic, rather than the Kingdom itself; and it has really cool mechanics, like how darkness is handled, power stancing, and how it's supposed to be a little more casual friendly is really cool (ignoring all the issues that would make veteran players pull their hair out, and we do not talk about Adaptability. It was hell getting through DS2 without ever knowing what ADP did, so I kept it at 4 at the time.) Coming from a person who loves ds2 to bits and was actually the first souls game i played i can happily say if you enjoy it good but the game isnt good half the hitboxes are junky to hell, the entire game is just lets load a sh*t ton of enemies into one area and hope the player can get through it, you either waste time and die to the enemies in the area or rush past them and die to the boss because of levels, damage is often altering in terms of amount, dark souls 2 original atleast made some attempt of not doing what SOTFS did, the producers even stated how that they made the game how they did because they wanted to annoy the player and make them angry and bosses are often 2 on 1 or 3 on 1 or really stupid or deal too much damage for the attack they are doing, the thing is dark souls 2 is good if you enjoy it but there is ALOT of reasons to not enjoy it
