Was the opening sequence where he’s late for work and driving the yellow Porsche through LA the inspiration for the Huey Lewis video for I Want a New Drug where he’s late for the show and he drives a yellow Porsche through SF? 😂

Last night I was on TH-cam on my television and this video pops up! I remember seeing it for the first time at the theater back in 1978. I was 17 years old. The soundtrack made the movie. Good memories.

First movie soundtrack album I ever bought (it wasn't a thing yet, soundtracks) because it was the only way to get the Steely Dan song FM. It wasn't on any of their albums for years.

If you're a fan of 70's rock music, this is - without a doubt - the best movie you can watch...lots of awesome tunes, decent acting, and just makes you feel good...I think I paid to watch it in a theater while I was in the Air Force waaaaay back then LoL

I grew up in the 70's and 80s in San Diego and listened to such AWESOME stations like KROQ, KLOS, 91X and 101 KGB. When our lives revolved around music and we marked our small and big times in life with our favorite songs, and sometimes a song we hated🎶

I somehow never got around to seeing this, back in the '70s. Corrected that lack yesterday. The lack of sound caught me by surprise. At first, I thought there was a problem with the video. Then the sound came back, and I realized 1 song had been muted, probably for copyright reasons. My immediate thought after that was, "I'll bet it was an Eagles tune." 👎👎👎😏😏😏

I remember when FM radio came out, AM did have static often, the really was " no static at all " with FM and was a welcome change, along with stations that played mostly rock, I loved WBCN Boston where they lived.

This movie is such a time piece for the late 70s, back in the day when DJs used to get laid as much as the rock stars. I wonder why that office girl tech (Sheri) at 11:32 never speaks, she just motions.... throughout the whole movie.

I have a habit of not reading thereviews of older movies. I think this could have been done better as a 2-part WKRP episode. I don't know if WKRP used this as inspiration or vice versa or coindidence due to the subject matter. After about an hour of content this just got worse so I switched it off good to see the stars of the era but it just became too darn annoying to be worth my time

This movie is so bittersweet bc it shows how great FM radio was in the 70s. The issues portrayed here are spot on and completely describe how it fell from grace and became the crap, formulaic corporate mess of today’s radio. I’m looking at you iHeart radio 🤡
