I like Mr. SCRIBNER. ARE YOU GOING TO BE IN THERE BEFOE THE SNOW STARTS FALLING? I FINALLY RETIRED YESTERDAY. SAD moment but Nancy said it was time. I'd like to visit you and your wife. Maybe sometime.
That ice shiled on the front exterior wall is to prevent rain from getting between the front porch and exterior wall, which would rot the sheathing and sill plate. Most builders skip that simple step. I don't even have to know the guy but I know he's a quality builder for that detail of construction.
0:01 That's called Flex space in commercial real estate. The owner has a large commercial building with only outside walls and will add interior walls to make the space smaller If needed. So one large building might have one, two, three, etc... companies leasing, just depends on the space they need.
The common problem with hurricane hangars is people tend to think it will save a roof from wind. The reality is, the top of the wall studs are simply nailed in place and the wind will separate the roof from the top of the wall studs or floor. Look at a mobile home after a tornado, they have hurricane hangers installed and the only thing left after a storm is the floor. This is because the entire process of securing the home was uncomplete, just the same as only installing hurricane hangers. Wall sheathing, especially OSB, will not save a wall/roof separation in high wind.
Wow things are really coming together! It's going g to be such a wonderful home with an awesome view, huge slice of peace, and nature❤
should go with victon equiptment
I trusted my supplier to make a recommendation.

Very cool Mark! How exciting to get the panels up and making power…….now, will it run a hot tub? :-)
A very good question that won't be answered for awhile.

Looking good Mark! I was wondering how you were going to mount the solar panels on the waste blocks……now I know :-)
I'm exciting to see all 18 panels mounted. Should look cool. Told the builder they will have power next week.

I didn't know you were a douser? MISS you my friend
ya, one of my many useless things I've tried. you should come see my project. about 45 mnutes from SkowVegas.
My roofing guy would have that entire roof sheathed and shingled in 3 days with 2 guys.
I agree, they are not a guarantee solution however a little extra strength cant hurt for the low cost.
You doing all this by yourself? Your a smart man.
Hey Tuck, I'm doing the site work only. Hired a GC to build.
roof looks good!

understood, for me doing lots of little things can add up. unless your using concrete wind can destroy almost anything.
