My dad had always been a chicken lover. I grew up watching him feed, bathe, and train Bangkok-breed chickens. He did cockfighting in his youth, but he never did it again once he married my mom. We had a coop on a paved backyard. I watched the chickens pace around, crowing at times, preening themselves. I played with them too by snapping my fingers on their sides until they play-peck me. I caressed the more friendlier easy-to-approach roosters on my lap. When my father died, I tried my best to continue his routines, but after a year, the coop area was turned into a bathroom. I gave his last rooster to one of his best friends. I changed my username in honor of him and to show my love of chickens. Thank you, dad.

A few weeks ago a little kitty (approximately 2 months old) showed up in our backyard. The 1st couple of days she stayed up in a tree and came down only in the evening, once the chickens started heading towards the coop. We made sure we fed and watered her. Then she started coming down from the tree, but kept her distance from the hens. A few days after that she would hang out with the hens. Then about 10 days later she started to warm up to me. I took her in and worked on getting rid of nasty stick tight fleas (she was amazingly well behaved for the bath and plucking out those fleas). Yesterday, I was watching natural solutions for treating hens and she was watching along with me (1st time I've witnessed her watching tv). Today I put on this video and she sat there and watched about 30 minutes of it and then came snuggling next to me. I'll be saving this for kitty tv time 😻.

Another good chicken video. By the way, I've noticed that Duke's left spur seems to be a lot bigger than normal. Do you not know how to trim spurs or anything? Reason is I think Duke needs his spurs trimmed. Plus whatever happened to my favorite rooster Roman? I haven't seen him lately.

we had chickens my whole childhood this is my first year outside the home without them. I miss them this helps.
