Really not understanding the military recruitment comments. I have two boys in the Army, both spoke with recruiters at school in an affluent school district. They also went to several schools with recruiters on Hometown Recruiting leaves. Other than that good episode. I do love some of these artists, but totally get it from anyone who doesn't like it. It's easy to drive to on a long trip but I don't draw any inspiration from it. Take Care!

If Mustaine didn't decide to sing for Megadeth they would be on their 25th vocalist by now. To be clear, I like his voice. It fits the lyrics and is totally different than any other metal bands vocals. It did sound better when he was younger, but that's to be expected. I'm old enough to have seen all the greats early on, most of them at The Cameo on South Beach, so I experienced the best of thrash metals birth. Was even an extra in Ace Ventura when Cannibal played The Cameo.

Im just finding you guys. As a Christian who is a huge metal fan I had to make this my first listen to you guys. Some of these bands are just incredible, Demon Hunter, Phinehas, Norma Jean. I still love Slayer, Ghost, and even saw Behemoth live. Im down with the music. In the end truth is truth. I have heard truth from all these bands. A message is just that, it is a message, not necessarily truth. Great job! Subscribing now!

Where’s everyone else, this is seriously underrated- on behalf of all metal heads who have yet to discover this gem

I also think there's probably some metaphor in there between just metal the music and metalheads the people, where sometimes the look or the sound are pretty aggressive but the actual members are quite positive and communal and often not that aggro at all I think the mosh pit has a similar context where it is an act of controlled violence and controlled expression, it's a place to put a lot of that energy and movement and expression because these people aren't particularly aggressive or violent in their lives and relationships ie metalheads are some of the kindest gentlest and most thoughtful people I've ever befriended, just as the mosh pit is one of the most supportive and communal spaces of physical activity with strangers that exists

this sounds like a cool topic to dive into, I came out of the punk and hardcore scene, there are even some ska songs about pit etiquette it's communal and literally the entire show or the entire pit will stop if someone falls down you always pull em back up even in the super hardcore shows where people are just spinning fists, there's etiquette and I hate to harken to a darker time, but when I saw all these people getting crushed to death at like Travis Scott concerts etc, I kept thinking oh no it's a bunch of these little Genesis who do to the pandemic I've never really been to shows and they have no idea about pit etiquette and pit safety (also poorly designed set up/rigid walls/limited escape routes, etc)

Cool topic, but like, it seems like you guys didn’t really experience much of these bands. I saw pantera a dozen times in the 90s and GWAR 35 times with Oderus. I can remember being 13 14 and staying up late on Saturday nights to watch the headbangers ball and discovering all those awesome bands from the early 90s.

All i hear is two clowns.
