I plan on buying a malamute, was wondering if I should get more than one? they seem like they'd be more of a pack animal than any other dog, so I might be asking a stupid question. but I'd rather not spend 3-4 thousand on 2 dogs right away if I don't have to. I have 3 other dogs, maybe that would suffice?

Because snakes aren't meant to be pets, you can make them you're pet, but mostly there wild. Plus dogs usually are pets, and people don't want to hate on dogs.

Oh right cool, i was told not to give any chicken bones to my dog wether they were cooked or raw :P

It's only cooked bones that splinter, chicken being the worst and most well known, but if they're raw they're completely safe. Wouldn't let them anywhere near old KFC bones or anything similar.

ooh erm its not the best idea to feed dogs chicken carcass as the bones tend to splinter and make dogs really poorly but other bones are fine :)

@tobie821 It's up to you really, depends if you leave him alone a lot? Can you walk them both (I don't like walking both of ours together on my own)? Can you afford food/vets/etc? I'd recommend having a boy and a girl as well.

@tbourner10 well mine is turning almost one now, so later on should i get another? when he grows more?

@tobie821 It's a good idea if it would otherwise be on it's own, any more than about 4 hours they get really lonely so another dog to keep them company is good. They're hard work though and I'd never recommend having 2 puppies at the same time, especially from the same litter. We got Loki as a puppy and didn't leave him for long periods, then rescued Kaiya when Loki was 2.

can i ask you if you have a malamute should you get like two or have another pet/dog to keep him/her company?

Gah! I want to run to your house and steal him he's so cute! My LHGSD doesn't give a damn about wolves on the tv. The only kin he recognizes is the fire engines that roll by. That's the only time you can get a howl out of him.
