Shout out to Tao @ 99 Bikes West Lakes Adelaide for putting it together.
If you have a bike that needs to be built I recommend asking for him.
Great bike mechanic, trust worthy.

Had an amazing time running with this great social runclub. We ran at a pace of around 6-6:30min/km. Very welcoming and accommodating to all Doyou runclub runs every Saturday 9am and meet at Yoyogi Park Clock Tower. They cater to english speakers so it's perfect for travellers. City to Bay 2024! Adelaide
มุมมอง 3374 หลายเดือนก่อน
City to Bay 2024, Started running exactly 1 year 2 weeks from today. First time ever editing a video Game plan was to run at 5:30 for first 6km, then last 6km increase it to how I felt. Ended up going around 5:20 for first 9km and then the last 3km around 5:00 Happy with the result, ended up with a time of 62:20 beating last year's time of 73:10. Worked out to be avg 5:09 Thanks for watching!
Nice work! I finished a few mins behind you. Was such a beautiful day for it. But damn at the end of knotts hill and you cross that road for the last little kicker damn near killed me
@@alexterpstra3717 same! I thought it was over 🤣
@ if you ever get the chance do Amy’s fondo. It felt a lot easier than Adelaide epic. The scenery is awesome also
Well you can use google maps just ask for main or non private roads.
oh nice didn't know that! thanks
Black car is the top - she punked you - so cruel! Haha
🤣
I wouldnt have expected 99 Bikes to assemble a bike where the parts were not bought from their stores. Can I ask how much they charged for assembly?
19:25 Tandem bike
@@WalrusRiderEntertainment oooh yesss that's it 🤣
Why did you pay so much? SLC frameset is $1780 and Hyper 3 45 is $1420 = $3200. You can get the Ultegra di2 12 speed full groupset for around $1300. The total should be less than $4500. For what you paid for that bike you could have gotten a new Specilaized Tarmac SL8 Pro.
They're are in Australia. I believe it's in Australian dollars.
@@byunbee yes Australian dollars and our dollar is also low ATM 😭
@ Ah, didn’t realize you’re not in the U.S.
Good bike and wheels, but poor resale value…
The plan is to keep this bike for the next 10 years! So hopefully it won't be too bad 🤣
I did the challenge ride in 2011 and they laid out food and drinks at the end for everyone
@@troycollett8540 wow 😲 inflation 🤣
So addictive! I went out this morning even though it was boiling with a head wind😆
@@Feathers920 haha I know me too! I ended up home at 11:20am. So hot 🥵
Looks sweet! Whats the weight of the bike?
i saw it was about 10kg
@@s1ddh4nt 7.4kg with bottle cages and pedals. So would be around 7.1kg without
Great build at a great price, you’ll love it. My Winspace wheels have been bullet proof and when I cracked one their after sales warranty couldn’t have been easier or quicker. I look forward so seeing what you think.
Good to hear! thanks :)
yeah, Knott's Hill that deep into the route is a bit rude 😂
@@JulzLX97 🤣
Hey Chris, great video. You did really well!
@@missmiafawn thanks! Really appreciate the comments! ☺️
Where did you get your ultegra Di2 group set from? Cheers
@@danieldelbello4095 lordgun has specials but gotta wait for things to go in stock. I had to email a lot of places to let me know when things are in stock
No excuses now! What size tyre did you go for? Pretty sure I've seen you in the hills before
@@ethanw9434 I wanted 30s but they didn't have in stock so went with 28s. I'll be ready next time and order 30s ahead of time. Yep no excuses now!
@@ChrisPhungFitness 28s will be fine on those wheels, running 28s on mine but 30 or 32 next season. Nice bike!
Killer SLC, what size frame and bars did you with?
@@RafaSplanBcheers! I got a Small with 38cm bars. Im 167cm. Wanted 36cm but they don't do that size 😥. Now that I've ridden it I definitely would prefer a bit smaller. 38 still ok though.
I have watched a few of your videos. Great work. Thanks for sharing. Have you got a strava route for this ride to share please?
@@lukerosie2240 sure I'll add it to the description 😁
@ChrisPhungFitness thank you so much
Well done mate. New cyclist here who's still building fitness and trying to lose weight. Hopefully try and do some of these events next year.
@@400chevlc Nice! Don't wait until next year! You got this 😁💪
THANKS CHRIS. GREAT VIDEO.
Thanks for the comment! ☺️
Well done 👍
Cheers mate 👍
Just stumbled across your channel and turned out I was in the video during the Norton climb, my kids thought it was the best to see
That was lucky! Glad your kids got to see you! My kids love it 😊
Well done mate, was a great day for it
dawg why is your helmet so far back on the back of your head LMAO. if you fall off you're cracking your forehead on the pavement. you either need a small size or tighten it up with the boa in the right place
@@jacklalalaful I was wondering why my helmet looks so high 🤣
Good effort. It was hot that day. Just keep hanging on a little longer each time on the climbs and eventually you’ll crest them with the back of the bunch. You only need to be at the back of the bunch over the top to make it a lot more enjoyable. 😊
@@andrewdeer2147 thanks Andrew yeah will definitely feel good if I can hold that last wheel one day 😁
"i'm dead". we've all been there… 90kms and 1300m in heat is no joke
Nice, getting it done 👍
Awesome work, great video. Be there soon!!!!!!
Great video. Keep it on !
Thanks, will do!
Big group rides like this I find a lot of alphas in there. Push the pace who has the biggest balls contest. Ride your own ride bro. Train hard and then you can drop them 🚴💪 Get a smart trainer and that will make you a beast
haha cheers i'll try xD
Nothing wrong with getting dropped, especially when you are able to tag back on again.
haha cheers
good work Chris keep spinning very jealous
thanks mate! 😄
Well done. Looks really fun except the early part along the narrow bike path. If I may suggest, eat something else other than white bread, there is not much energy in it. Muesli or oat porridge is better, or mashed potato.
Cliff bars are good
thanks for that. i'll try some muesli next time :)
You're wearing your helmet wrong man.
thanks for that, can u help with how i'm meant to wear it? it does look a lot higher for some reason
keep it up mate, it doesn't get easier, you just get faster/fitter. Hang in there and you'll be in the front of the group in no time.
one day xD
What a lovely comment!👏
Cool vid, I'm going to try and do this with Sota when I'm in Tokyo next week.
Thanks man, enjoy the run club it's a great experience 👌😊
Finally posted it!
Finally! Been sick all week 😢
Here from watching Sota’s video! I do cycling and running in Sydney!
I also watch your videos! I've been subscribed to you for a while when I saw you on Sota's channel as well :P
Good job.. This came up randomly on my feed.. I'm an Adelaidian living in Sth Korea past 8 years... I would love to come back one day and do the City to Bay.. Good memories of the streets. Lucky there are a lot of runs and marathons here but would be nice to do it back in my hometown.
You should! Nothing can beat your home town ☺️
So proud of you. Well done.
