As Philippines was once under U.S control, they adopted the ways and uniforms of some the U.S Armed Forces branches as like you are seeing, the Dress Blues. There is a difference if you go to Google and search up "Philippine Marine Corps Dress Blues" and it looks similar, but the emblem on their cover is different. Im not sure what it is, but it is NOT the Eagle, Globe and Anchor. That is USMC. So in conclusion, Philippines decided to adopt this tradition from the U.S.

This is PH Marines they have a very similar culture as USMC and also in dress uniforms...

The Philippine Miliitary was built by the Americans during the Commonwealth. It's a shared tradition. Once upon a time the Philippines was pretty much like Hawaii.

Pero tinitiyak ko sa iyo na walang alam iyan... madaldal lang iyan at nagdudunong'dunungan, kunwari may alam pero sa totoo lang ay siya itong "TANGA"... Produkto ng PAF-OCS ang bunsong anak ko at ako naman at dating PMMA "Class 94" pero hindi ko ipinilit sa anak ko ang PMMA at hindi ko kailanman sasabihin na tanga ang mga Air Force dahil pare'pareho lang naman iyan na pinagdadaanan na hirap sa training... Walang magaling diyan at wala din tanga diyan dahil hindi sila ma'qualify sa entry kung tanga sila... At bilang pag respeto sa mga kapatid natin na mga naka'uniporme ay hindi dapat natin sinasabi na tanga ang sino man sa kanila dahil pare'pareho sila mga tagapagtanggol ng bayan natin... Ganun pa din kaya ang impression niya nung matapos ang performance ng PMMA? Ang hirap kasi sa kanya ay hindi niya muna tapusin na panuorin iyon buong performance bago siya mag comment, kaya masasabi ko na siya itong "TANGA" dahil hindi siya marunong manuod ng silent drill... Eh paano iyon nagsabi ng ang "GALING" sino ngayon sa kanila ang tama, iyon ba nagsabi ng "TANGA" o iyon nagsabi ng "GALING"?

USAF Drill Team is the best IMO.
