This is actually a hilarious review in the best possible way. I have never seen any reviewer criticize this bike like this so it was very refreshing. Having said that I think you just hate the looks of this bike. The blue/white one looks so much better in the eye and it's the only color for this bike for me.
Thank you for your comment, i do think its ugly, but mostly i hate it because it exists, its such a level of compromise in terms of design and performance. Equally, to buy one, so many other bikes have been ignored... Hope that makes sense! it would be great if you would subscribe!
Possibly the worst review I've had to whiteness, comparing it to the 900 in most cases . You obviously fell out of love with the 1300 so why take this out when you didn't like the one you owned ! Shabby review at best and I'm sure no one in there right mind would take any notice of anything you have to say ! Hey just my opinion !!!
I have the RT and didn’t get your comments such as why put that engine in this bike and it’s a tall bike. The RT in different engine sizes has been around for nearly 30 years now. I think the engine suits it very well and is much better than the K1600 that is more expensive too heavy and not just as good a package. Height wise it’s quite a bit lower than a GS I’ve had several over the years and actually prefer the RT, GS 820 to 840, RT 805 to 825
Hi, thank you for your comment. For me I think the engine is very capable but feels just for my type of riding in the wrong package. I know it’s lower than the GS but the seat is quite wide for my 29” inseam. I know it’s a bike that’s been around for a long time! And I’m certain bmw know better than me! Since I did this review, I have seen how loyal rt owners are, and that’s a good thing!
@@RRGS78 everyone is different in what bike they like and what suits them best. The seat is wide maybe it was also on the higher setting. I had the K1200GT back about 15 years ago now and as a Highway bike it was superb, unfortunately it hated slow riding through town etc and the engine was set up so lean that the on off throttle could catch you out in fact sitting in traffic you could watch the revs go up to 21/2 the back down to around 500 feeling like it was about to stall with no input whatsoever. They also had big problems especially ABS failure. I got a GS in 2011 last of the air cooled and loved it, then over the years 1200lc and the 1250 with a few 750’s at the same time. I loved the GS but it wasn’t the ideal bike two up, with my wife and luggage the front end at slow speed felt as if the front wheel was off the ground, she also thought it wasn’t a bit high getting off and on, we are both old now. After all those years with the GS decided to try an RT this year and haven’t regretted it. Take care and ride safe👍
I have had 2 1250 gs’s and a 1300 gs, which I just got rid of after 4 months and went to a f900gs, as I wanted a bike that had more usable power for real world riding! It would be great if you’d consider subscribing
The only thing stopping me from getting this bike is my pocket.
That’s a very good reason! If you do get it, I hope you love it and can use all of its potential!
@@RRGS78 Haha. No one can. It's an impulse buy than a sensible purchase. Great review by the way. Culminating is better than just a like button..
Thank you for your kind words, I hope you subscribe and enjoy my other videos
That’s a great sounding exhaust…👊
Indeed
Nobody likes it, as always with a new GS. Like its predecessors, it will be the most copied bike and surely a bestseller.
It’s a great bike, but I’m just not sure the real world application
You’re better stay with your Chinese F900, you don’t deserve a real GS.
What are you on about, I don’t deserve a real gs? Being that my 1300 was my 3rd
I have a 2007 Yamaha 400cc. Majesty.with 40000km on it did complete overhaul .not cheep, but love the Scooter so I bought an other one a 2009 with 20000 km on it runs like new .is fast 160 km\hr but they are all heavy to push around or put on Centre Stand.had many Bikes, but love the comfort and protection of Maxi Scooters . Next one will be a BMW c400 !
I am over 80 now ,so can you blame me ?
Very nice!
not at all!
the only thing i dont like at my 1300 is that they bought the ASA version out after i bought mine ….
Yes I totally understand that! How are you getting on with yours?
Dick Lovett! Lolz. If ever there was a suitable pornstar name.
You were completely tgoughtless about other people waiting to ride this bike. Too far up your own ass - who cares what you think about it! Buy one or stop bloody waffling.
Well done Steve
Well done indeed!
I am in the US and have over 350k on 3 GSAs. For me that 8 gallon tank is fantastic. Out west it really is nice.
Ah yes you live in a country where it makes sense! Here in the UK, I’m not so sure! Thank you for your comment, it would be great if you’d subscribe!
If you need that much Luggage take your Fcuking Car" was a Brilliant Comment! And, you will not hear that from Lying Sack of Influencers who will gladly go to Free trips, get free meals and accommodations and Loaner bikes for 6 months to a year! Great Review!
Thank you so much for your kind comment, im glad you enjoyed it.
1st video of yours ive seen, nice change from the usual corporate cock suckers/influencer's, honest review and agree with alot of what you've said, ive not rideen one yet and my deal is up in January for my 1250 Gsa 40 yesrs edition, for now i think ill buy that one and just enjoy it 👍🏼
Thank you so much for your comment, i just want to try to give honest reviews based upon my years of riding
You took 21/2 hours to test ride just to film for your TH-cam channel and took my test ride spot as you took so long- thank you - spoke to Fowlers director and please to say they have banned you for life.
I’m sorry I delayed you, I honestly didn’t know how long I had. Thank you for going out of your way to speak to fowlers, you’re too kind. I hope you manage to get out on the GSA and enjoy it.
😂what a nobber
Who’s the nobber? Me or the other gentleman?!
You're the inconsiderate one preventing another rider from getting their test ride. Poor manners man
Hmm interesting, I literally didn’t know he was booked in. And as soon as the dealership called me I returned.
Windy because you got the small screen!
This is very true, or if went slower that would also help.
I went from R1250 GSA to K1600 G/A. I’m going back to GSA, the 1300
I hope you enjoy the 1300 when you get to it and can fully use it!
Interested in the Klim lid, am shopping for a new one soon, would you recommend - noise, comfort , ventilation, sizing ?
Venting is amazing. Weight is amazing. Noise is a bit loud
I agree with the below, its great, I think i will change my liner for a thicker one which might cut out a lot of the noise. Its the best helmet i've had, i had a Neotec 3 before. The transition visor is great!
Pommies will find a way to whinge at anything 😂
And Ozzies will always find a way to whinge about Pommies
@@RRGS78 im laughing at you whinging theres a difference 😂
I guess so! question though… is my whinging well founded?!
@@RRGS78 i think you had your mind made up before you started reviewing and focus on the negatives , maybe for views , i guess theres a market for people who dont accept new/ change
Interesting that you think that, genuinely not the case, as I said in the video the 1300 is a great bike, but I don’t know what purpose it serves. Having had one and got rid of it, I think I have a good appreciation of how they ride, but getting views is not really my concern, I just try to give honest and in the moment feedback. This video has performed really well, but if you look back at other reviews, I talk the same regardless. My channel is not monetised and I’m not sponsored, so I just say whatever I think. I do appreciate everyone that has watched and commented etc, even if they think I’m full of shit
Just found your channel, love your presentation style, hate the intro and end music but you cant have everything I guess. Perhaps you should have looked at the Desert X Rally, comes with KYB forks and Excel rims as standard?
Sorry you dont like the music, but im glad you like the channel. The Desert X was too tall for me, and honestly i think the BMW has better build quality!
@@RRGS78 thanks for replying, I was all set to sell my 1250gs for the Ducati but I’ve just had 2 weeks on a rental 1300gs in the south of France and thought it was the best bike I’ve ever rode, even more thrilling than the Super Adventure I had. I thought you were getting a 1300 with Asa when you first mentioned you were trading it in, it’s on my Christmas list.
The ASA is exceptional! I make sure I reply to every comment good or bad. I will say the tone of the engine is very different on the 1300 compared to the 1250, and the Akro I put on is quieter than the stick pipe! Let me know when you’ve bought it!
@@RRGS78 will do, just recovering from a detached retina which happened on the hols and that was the push for me to think if I get my vision back I’m having one cause you never know what’s around the corner👍
Well hope you mend soon, and get the bike!
A lot less of the F word, adds nothing to the commentary.
Thank you for your comment, my vernacular is not there to add, it’s how I talk… but generally speaking I try to limit it though, just not on this one
Does not sound as good as 1250.
You are 100% correct in this!!
Having ridden a 900 GSA for 2 days as a loan, I kicked off because it felt cheap and nasty, especially the engine. I demanded an RT (direct, replacement) or a 1300 loan. Long commutes on the motorway are a nightmare on the 900. All the functionality of the new 1300 GSA makes sense, apart from the "made for the USA" combined indicators/brake lights. Even being able to see how components attach to the bike makes sense, and I guess they all use the same Torx size. Your review is valid, and your opinions are valid too. However, it's very superficial, without thinking of the possibilities. Coming off the 900, the GSA was going to feel heavier, that's simply, mass. The GSs and all BMW boxer engined bikes hide their mass really well. I'm stuck with the "RT" (which is a great bike) but I have often wished I bought a 1250 GSA (at the time)especially when hitting our wonderful UK roads' potholes. Now that the tech is on the GSA, it's definitely my next bike. It would never be a little 900, I couldn't put up with a chain or a serious downgrade in torque.
Interesting comments… having had the 1300 and 2x 1250 GS’s. Coming off a big boxer twin down to the 900 meets my user case. The 900 has the right amount of usable road power. Now the 1300 is the best bike money can buy, I say that having got rid of one! But it’s soulless, don’t get me wrong I will miss the boxer engine, but not in the packaging of the 1300 GS. I’m lucky enough to have 2.5 bikes at the minute, and the 900 being number 29 in total, and I agree the functionality of the 1300gs/a does make sense, but buying and riding a bike has to meet a real need rather than a hypothetical need. Very few people can really ride those bikes. I say the above in the knowledge of the guy that is working with me on customising the 900 and building a k100 cafe racer is a former uk champion for the GS trophy cup. What do you ride currently
Great bike but for that money I'd personally keep my bike and get a nice little 2 seat sportscar and tour europe with the change.
It’s a great bike no one actually needs! What bike do you have currently?!
still not choice. if honda come with a 1200~1300cc shaft drive adv. i will buy. Now on market only one choice like Gsa. I just not like the rear chasis wield looking .
Thank you for your comment! I think you are right about the welding! Would be great if you subscribed!
option 719 looks nicer to me
I think so too, and the triple black is also nice,
Oooo good old gs clan. Lots of money for a motorcycle.
Yes we are an odd bunch….
friggn hideous ugly overpriced tank
It makes all the sense but not to you.
Indeed, so out of curiosity, why does it make sense to you?
Thank God for that. 🤣 Is it designed for any other purpose than to grab headlines and capture the mines bigger than yours people? Just as a matter of interest have you ever ridden the original R80GS or ST from the 80s? 🤔.
Thank you for your comment, unfortunately I have not tried the older stuff, would love to though!
What a 🪔🪫⏱️
Unfortunately I have no idea what those emojis are trying to say… Not sure if it’s a positive thing or a negative, sorry!
This guy is so efficient with his time, he uses emojis instead of words. That's impressive!
Looks are everything. Thats not a pretty bike.
It’s not the best, no! And yes looks are indeed everthing
Interesting change of choice. Got a 1300 gs myself and rented the 900 gs out in Spain last week for 7 days. I was going to buy the 900 before I decided on the 1300 and after a week on it in Spain, I was glad I did and I've owned 3 x T7's 😅
Don’t get me wrong, the 1300 GS is exceptional, but just not an adventure bike, it’s a phenomenal sports tourer that has the power of a superbike from about 10 years ago… on paper it’s everthing you could want. But it’s lost it’s soul
Gorgeous bike. The only reason I haven’t ordered one yet is I want to see if they launch the new 1300rt at EICMA. With the ASA I truly think the gs gsa (rt) are the best bikes on the market. Plus I can’t understand why once someone has had shaft drive they go back to chain. Would you buy a car with wind up windows these days?
They are the best, but they are losing their soul a bit. I do love a shaft drive, but a bike has to be more than a list of its stats?
Brilliant review. Finally someone says it's a pissing contest, finally someone questions all the stupid luggage. I'm testing one with the ASA on Saturday and currently have a Trophy 1300 myself. I absolutely love it's design/looks but it's completely over the top for me and I suspect 95% of potential buyers needs.
Thank you very much for you comment! The ASA is amazing, I hope you enjoy the ride, would be great if you could get back to me on how you got on!
Like you said you are not the right person to review this bike.
lol thank you. Self awareness is key! So, would you buy one?
You fucked up ….. great whatching though 😂
So…. Tell me how did I fuck up?! And would you buy one?!
@@RRGS78 I did something similar and wished I hadn’t……. I like the 900 but wouldn’t buy one, R1300GSA I definitely would buy
Well I hope you get one and that you love it!
😍
Thank you!
Buy a Kawasaki 1100 Versys and save 10k plus and thats Ten Thousand pounds, madness, BMW have lost the plot !!.
In the constant drive to make the ‘best’ they have stopped making bikes
Thank you for your comment it would be great if you’d subscribed!
All your comments are spot on i have a mate who brought one because he can he is loaded he wants to ride 500ks in one hit which i know he will never do, he wants to stop every 1 hour for a piss now
lol thank your comment, I hope your mates bladder control improves
I was getting Ricky Gervais at the start! Why not put a blanking plate or plugs on instead of hacking the frame Ross? I did an off-road day on a 30 year old ex army bike at the weekend (I am a total novice) it was more than capable surprised you need to swap the wheels and forks out. looks superb in those colours.
I’m going to look at modding it because I want to try and make it all it can be! I’m a total novice off road as well!
The Spider was unimpressed @2.33. He's heard it all before. 😂
I noticed him to, he mugged me right off
You keep using the word "Best" . My impression is that you are chasing the "Newest", "Latest" most hyped. You don't seem to let yourself relax and decide what you like, what you enjoy, what you want. 🙏🙏🙏
I’ve been the same with cars, I had 43 of them… I’m searching for something that doesn’t exist. Or perhaps this time I’ve found it?!
@@RRGS78 Good Luck! I am lucky. I have found such joy in every bike I have owned. 🙏
Fuel consumption varies in the modes , rain /road does higher mpg
And how much of a prick I am when I ride it
7 BMWs over the years, 5 Harleys, 1 Honda, 1 Yamaha, too many Urals (5).... what do I have now? 88 harley owned since 1987 and 234K miles, too many Urals (3) and of all things a Triumph T120/Hannigan... Notice, no BMWs. Got tired of them and the maintenance costs and yeah, never could get really comfortable with a BMW with the exception of an R90/6 owned a long time ago... Ride what you like, don't spend so damned much unless you REALLY know what you are getting into.... The Triumph is bike 23... and it's not the right one either... but I got a deal on it...
The bike I picked up today is my 29th, I think we may have a problem…
I'm hooked. I have a 2021 1250 GSA which is perfect and I have done 17,000 miles on it but I'm very keen on the f900GS what ever I get is my daily driver and holiday bike. The major issue for me (when touring) is fuel range so please keep us in the loop. Enjoy your new bike.
I did 17k on my 1250 GS in 18 months! Thank you for your comment it’s really appreciated.
@@RRGS78 i live on an island that is nine miles by five so 17,000 in 3.5 years is not too shabby either 😉. More than half of those miles have been all over Europe. Looking forward to hearing about your first trip.
My comment about my miles was not to compare to yours, just that I loved it so much I road it all the time! Where do you live that’s such a small island?
It’s been so long we both talked about the F900GS that now i see you’ve bought it, our trip to Marroco it starts to take shape 😂
Let’s get planning!
Yay, I've got the GSA version it's a fab bike. I just love it
Glad you love it!
Look forward to seeing what your getting friday, multistrada rally ?
Friday has come early and it’s here!
