It's interesting to see the similarities between the first- and second-gen H-body vehicles. As a former 2nd-gen H-body owner, I found a lot of things quite familiar.

Another H-body, like the Eighty Eight from earlier. The Bonneville got great reviews from the motoring press when it was new.

AWD, 320hp, V8 sedan; not bad. Nice colour combination, too.

It's not often you get to visit your old car's grave... This is genuinely one of the best cars I've ever owned; second only to the Mercedes 190 E. That said, it's the most comfortable by a long shot.
Junkyard Dive | 1991 Buick Skylark Custom (Low Mileage)

This was actually a really nice car, especially on the inside. And it only had 125,000 kms! Apart from surface rust, it seemed to be in really good shape; way too nice to end up in a junkyard. In fact, if it had been on the market instead, I might've bought it. PS: Spot the Olds 88 behind it; that car will feature in the next video.

I liked this car. Yes, old Cadillacs have their flaws (like the gutless engines), but they have the kind of style and comfort that today's cars will never have.

I officially want one. PS: See if you can spot the Cutlass Supreme and the Achieva in the background ;)

Comfortable and classy, unlike today's cars. These GM C/H-bodies are really nice. I'd definitely buy one.
Knight Rider Display at Auckland Sky Tower
มุมมอง 3.2Kปีที่แล้ว
I got a nice surprise when I visited Auckland in September 2022: Getting to see a display of 3 KITT replicas to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Knight Rider. Funny enough, 2 of the replicas came from Christchurch. One of them is used as a fundraiser for Child Cancer NZ; you can find it on Facebook: kittforkids/. I grew up watching the re-runs in the early 2000s, so this was quite...
Outtakes | 190 E Walkaround
มุมมอง 56ปีที่แล้ว
Not everything went to plan when I filmed my walkaround video. Here are the faux pas I made during filming. The music is "Floaters" by Jimmy Fontanez, found in the TH-cam Audio Library. You might recognise it from the channel Technology Connections.
Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.6 | Walkaround, Start-up, Revs
มุมมอง 19Kปีที่แล้ว
Here's a tour of a classic Merc, a 1990 190 E 2.6. At the time of upload, this was my personal car. This video showcases the car's interior features and samples of the engine sound. It features a 2.6L M103 I6 making 160 hp and 220 Nm of torque. Modifications to this car include a muffler delete, opened air intake, Black Diamond performance brake setup, NGK plugs & leads and a custom painted val...
Pitlane Showcase | Historic Touring Cars & More | Skope Classic 2023

Here's a pitlane tour of my favourite category at the Skope Classic Historic Touring Cars. Funny enough, the leaky Toyota ended up breaking down in the race later on. Also, I happen to have a Scalextric model of the no.15 Ravaglia BMW.
Vintage Car Display (Starring 1916 Locomobile) - Skope Classic 2023
มุมมอง 165ปีที่แล้ว
During the lunch break, the Vintage Car Club displayed some cars on the track, including a 1916 Locomobile 90 HP Speedster. I was in the right place at the right time to get a video of the Locomobile starting up when I arrived! It was restored in 1997 at a cost of US$200,000. It has an 8.6L 6-cylinder T-head engine, with the cylinders cast in pairs.

It may seem low on horsepower but they had to de tune the engines so the transmissions would not burn up . That was the first gen Tranz . I have the same exact car it is very preppy , where is the car located ? …I see a part I could use

It's in Calgary at the Pick-n-Pull yard (Barlow Trail). I'm not certain it's still there, though; they get rid of their old stock a bit too regularly.

Thanks for the engine info. When they put the 4.9 into a concept car, they got 275 hp out of it, so the engines have potential. It's a shame the production versions couldn't have that much power.

Thank you for sharing this video. That is a loaded 1992 Ninety Eight. I own a 1996 Ninety Eight loaded. They made upgrades and changes in 1994 model year. The grille was changed, the instrumentation panel, the door trim panels were upgraded in 1994, the 3800 V6 was upgraded in 1995 model year, and seats were redesigned in 1994. The power adjustments went up to 8 way. They took the lock trunk cover off in 1993 unfortunately. I miss that. I like the color on this one. It was one of the colors I wanted. Mine is a dark green gray. When they stopped making the Ninety-Eight after 1996 model year, they took the grille, the seats and the interior and put them on the Eighty Eight and had a model called Oldsmobile Regency. It last two years( 1997-1998 model years). Thank you for sharing. The Eighty Eight shared a lot of parts with the Ninety-Eight. You explained the difference. I saw the other Oldsmobiles in the background.

I've always wanted one of these. I had an Eighty Eight, which is close enough I guess. Does yours have the digital instrument panel?

    • @OLDS98
      @OLDS98 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@SomethingAboutCars Yes, it has digital gauges and more. It is a loaded Series II. You should locate you a loaded 1991-1996 Ninety Eight or very loaded Eighty Eight or a 1997-1998 Regency. They offered digital gauges on the 1992-1994 Eighty Eight LS. I have seen it. If you look for a loaded 1995-1996 model, look for a series two Ninety Eight as the digital gauges are standard along with the memory seats,

Thanks for the video. I had a similar problem and bought an after market one from ebay. The problem was that the ebay light was completely straight with no curve to it. When I screwed it in there was so much tension that the thread stripped and one end popped out. Just wanted to check if the OEM product has a slight curve to it to follow the shape of the tailgate panel.

Good quality car & designed, c’mon a quality paint job cost more than the car is worth. Only model worth fixing up is the 16V but yeah thats another story.

I bought one of these (190E 2.6) new in 1989. Absolutely loved it. Was really sorry to give it up at the end of the lease. In many respects, I have not had another car that I liked as well since then. Fun to see it again!

I'm afraid not. There's no door trim on this van since it's a commercial-spec model.
