I'm a retired teacher who decided to take up a hobby of learning jazz trumpet. I hope to post some videos of the progress I make in learning trumpet. The horns I have in my collection are: Phaeton 2030 Bb trumpet, Puje 3AM hybrid trumpet, Carolbrass Eurobell Bb trumpet, Getzen Eterna flugelhorn, ABC Doublers Flugelhon.
Harrelson X-48 Trumpet Review-Commentary Only
This is a brief review of my Harrelson X-48 trumpet made by Jason Harrelson. This is commentary only but look on my channel for various demos of it. This is a great trumpet and I highly recommend Harrelson trumpets!

Appreciate the video
Thanks for a great video. You will help alot of people ,at least ones that will take your advice. Im starting to look at my carb now and will go over my fuel line first ,good for mait anyway, easy enough to replace and I thank you for the information. Tom
Heck yeah
Thank you for this video
My x380 is surging only when mower is engaged. Sometimes the fuel filter has gas in it, sometimes not. I think I’ll try fuel line next. I already did fuel and air filter.
Hey do you mind me asking where you got the sheet music from or did you improvise?
It's actually a playalong I purchased on Amazon. It came with 2 cds and the music. If you search this title it is still available. "20 Rhythm Backgrounds to Standards: Music Minus One Clarinet, Trumpet, Tenor Sax Deluxe 2-CD Set Paperback"
Ok thanks :)
Nice, Jon. Your playing is getting more fluid. Lovely song, too,
Thanks, Blaine! 😊
changing those lines without a rack is a pain
I have a new (3 year old) jd e120 that just started surging. I just changed the plugs though the old plugs really looked fine. Fuel filter was changed last year, and air filter looks clean. Only have 60 hours on it, so I’ll check the fuel line and other simple things. Thanks for the video
Thank you i was just about to blow this thing up 2 years I've been struggling with that
So beautiful trumpet version.
Heel mooi geblazen .👍👍
Thanks!
Hee mooi geblazen ,met mooie toon .👍👍
Wow so nice cover.❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉i really admire of your style of playing trumpet.🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks, it's definitely a work in progress!
Nice tone and breathe support ... especially on the higher element and the last note! well done, Jon!
Very nice.❤❤❤❤❤
West side story is the best ever
It’s beautiful✨
You just saved me! Thank you so much. I have tried everything that you did
Really glad it helped!
I'll check that before I bypass the seat safety switch.
My LA100 was surging, run maybe 20 feet, sputter, run maybe 20 feet, sputter, finally died and wouldn't crank again unless that battery was recharged. I changed the (1) fuel pickup (that thing you describe coming off the gas tank), (2) the fuel line from tank to fuel filter, (3) the fuel filter, (4) the line from fuel pump to carburetor. Having done all that, the mower ran beautifully for about 20 minutes. Then it started surging again, same old same old. So I did all you did and more. Any other ideas?
I'm reading up on some of these problems and many have found that the hole in the fuel cap gets clogged and creates a vacuum...try running with a loose cap, about to try it myself
Hey, that was great! I haven't heard you for awhile, and everything about your playing has gotten so much better - way to go! BTW, what horn are you playing there? I know you've been through a few different ones, looking for one that really resonates with you. Is this THAT one? Good job! 👍
Appreciate the encouraging words! It's an Edwards X-13 and definitely a keeper! 😊
@@golf4funjn532Excellent! Great horn!
Interesting. I am having this new issue which you described. I suspected a fueling issue. I will start with the fuel filter and then the fuel line. Thank you very much!
You just saved me a lot of time and money. Thank you so much!
Woaw, I dig your sound, man !!!
BTW, which flavor of AR Resonance mouthpiece are you using? The Nakariakov?
February 2024 I tried a lot of the regular tricks and just wanted to say the fuel line was the problem, ran great after redoing the fuel line. Thanks for for the video.
Glad to hear it!!
I just picked up an old Vega Trumpet from the 1930's. I love it way more than my Bach Strad trumpet. I'm now into vintage horns. They seem to usually sound better.
Thanks Blaine!
Nice runs and solid high note near the end! Good job, Jon. Keep on flugeling!
Beautifully done, Jon!
So beautiful!! Merry Christmas ✨
Thanks and same to you!
Nice sound-out of curiosity, which mouthpiece do you use(,ie make and number) please?thanks
Perfect 👌🏼
Thanks for the share, I put spark plugs in and didn't know where to go next, I will replace my hoses and filter, my mower is older than yours 2006 gt245, update as I go.
sounds really familiar ... but I don't recall the name. cool tune.
I get a little out of tune in the higher notes..working on that!
Thank you I rebuilt My carb and still had these problems done everything you did I’m bout to change the lines
Nice playing. Tuning was good too. 👏🏻 fun little ditty!
Thsnks!
Nice sound on that flugel. 👏🏻 nice super low too, which is not easy for most trumpet players. I also liked hearing a quick passing-tone run (1:28) = those add interest. More of that, pls. Well done.
Nice and light … sounding good, Jon. Herb world like it … But I was expecting you to sing too! 😉
I gave a vocal a try but couldn't hit the f# so I bagged it lol! Thanks for listening!
Bend those notes, Jon! Showing good flexibility and continued improvement 👏🏻. Just check the track’s tuning … they aren’t always at A440, to make sure you are tuned the same. Thx for posting.
🤠👍
Nice sound!
Thanks, trying to get better!
Excellent Tutorial. I will watch for that problem on my X320.
Nice, Jon. Tough to play with Chet at times because he bends so many pitches ... so this is a tall order. You sounded very good. Did you use your X-13 or another horn?
Thanks Blaine, you are so right, Chet definitely does that! That was the X-13. That horn is such a good fit for me.
Beutiful sound,music, fel rulexing
On the plus side, you did eventually find the issue. As an aside, wish JD still used the clear type gas tanks. The black ones not ideal in my experience when filling them up.
We have a john deere gt235 with the same symptoms and we replaced the whole gas line from fuel tank all the way to to the carburetor and still surges real bad
Same symptoms on my mower, my fix was freeing up the solenoid in the bowl of the carburetor (after doing everything else of course)
Very nice ‘singing’ style. 👏🏻
