Part5: Reaching ChiangMai from Singapore on a Bike | Solo motorcycle trip from Singapore to Thailand
In this episode, we continue on our journey towards ChiangMai from Nakhon Sawan, stopping by for a delicious croissant and coffee at Tak province. Instead of the crowded ChiangMai night bazaar, we will explore another better night market instead, located opposite of ChiangMai University.
In this episode, I also discover a few new favourite Thai dishes (Northern).

In this episode, we are making our way further up north after leaving bangkok and taking a stop at Nakhon Sawan Province, a quiet and peaceful province. Met some friendly riders and police on the way. We will also take some time to enjoy the views from a hilltop temple that was recommended by a waiter at a restaurant where we had breakfast. show more filming angles la lol
noted for future trips haha 👌🏻
Subscribed! Love how you show us your bike journeys. I hope to travel outside of SG with my husband on his e-bike. Not sure if Thailand has chargers for e-motorbikes. Plus, language barrier. I wonder if both me and my husband can wander over to Thailand with our e-bike
Dear Ben, when is your next upload D:< my gf keeps hounding me why you still no next episode No rush! just want to know is it going to be once a month?
abit busy but trying to do a little everyday hahaha 😂. Will try to aim for 1-2weeks each video next time
Back and butt must hurt like hell
Would love to know your bike setup and what you pack for your long trip
bike setup nothing much, only one duffel bag on pillion seat. then a top box. As for what I pack maybe I will do a video on it for next trip. Hard to type hahah
I ride solo every month to IPOH on my Tracer 900 GT and that's already tiring. You went to Thailand in a day...hats off to you bro.
When i came back i stopped by Ipoh 1 night. Going there in a day only because I didnt know how tiring it would be 😂
do you feel safe over there with you bike ? honest unloaded question
Thailand yes feel safe. Malaysia sometimes will worry 😅
What soft bag is that? Looks really good on the bike!
I think its the Givi XS319, came with the bike from previous owner. looks good but very tight space when dabao food. only can put 1 styrofoam size caifan
@@sornglor555 haha thanks for the reply. maybe good to put in tools or rain coat? i definitely wont be fitting cai fan 😜
@@sornglor555 alamak i meant crash bar bag, paiseh dont mean the tank bag! haha
@@danielblitz ohh haha, that one i use to keep stuff that dont use often like raincoat etc
I want to go Thailand 😢😢😢😢 cries
i caught up! hahaha your videos are fun and captivating! Thats why i managed to finish all of it
I have watched all of your 5 episodes, respect for what you have did which I think I couldn’t done it. I’m a Malaysian who travel to thailand around 9-12 times per year, I have the same feeling with you, I love the peoples and culture in this country. Very well done, keep it up 👍👍
Your choice of music is superb. As Thais, I couldn't statify those songs more than this. Those songs fit really well to the mountain vibes. Waiting for your next ep.
Bro, I stumbled upon your videos randomly and just watched all 5 episodes. First and foremost, mad respects to your courage. Being a single man all my life, I found comfort in solo travels too, just that I generally escape SEA because of the heat. Watching your videos made me realise there are also as many hidden spots in SEA as English countries. Thanks for motivating me to do my own bike trip. Just gotta swap my Ninja 400 for a tourer bike soon!
Same here... thanks for kickstarting the postcovid dream again. Looking forward to head up north again (maybe on a fjr.. fingers crossed)
Loving it! Can you do up a spotify playlist for the songs in your vids? Can't wait to travel up north soon! Been too long :)
Only have youtube music now sadly 😅 can find them in my playlists
Hi there. Love your videos. I always wanted to do something like you..exploring different provinces of Thailand where tourists don't go. Most probably not on motorbike though. I only have basic proficiency of phasaa Thai . I think I can talk in Thai easily but I have difficulty in understanding them. Got to pick up more vocabulary words. Lucky Phaa La does not speak Northern Thai dialect..else I doubt you will understand. I'm also surprised you managed to take a month off from work. I took leave for 3 weeks to go holiday in Europe and my boss was already not pleased. And yes..I need to remind myself that Khao Tom (boiled rice) is similar to Teochew fish porridge and not the cantonese porridge (jok)
Hi thanks for the kind words. For listening, can try listening to podcasts to soak up more vocabs. I think PaaLaa tried her best to speak normal Thai to me 😂. Boss pleased or not is not as important than experiencing life imo 🫢
Love your style, and the music. A little bit of voiceover would be nice, but not a lot. Welcome to Chiang Mai! น่าเสียดายที่ผมต้องไปอเมริกาตอนนี้ ไม่งั้นคงอยากเจอคุณ
🙏🏻 thanks 😊
Interesting music, can you add links to it please?
Can check out my playlists: Camping by the River or Take me there
Your videos are great. Nice soothing music to go along really add a certain mood to the video. Bring back wonderful memories when i did my many bike trips up north with my buddies more then 10 years ago. You should try riding to Laos and Cambodia next time. Its good that you learned thai language. Makes communication much easier
Hi Ben, I really enjoyed living vicariously through your solo touring video. I quit riding for a few years and actually just purchased an MT09 to ride because I missed the feeling of riding and the freedom. Glad to have found your channel! Hope to bump into you on SG roads one day.
Nice that you are back to riding 🫢👍🏻 see u on the roads
Feedback is keep up the good work, enjoy yourself more and share it with us in your style. Text placement is fine with me. Would like to see scenery clips, how about doing a sunrise and sunset with a gorgeous view.
hahaha if there is i will include na. This trip I was still learning how to use the cameras and all 😂
Well done, dude. All the best in your future trips
When was this ? Now weather at Chiang Mai not so good. Very hot & smoggy.
Nov last year haha, just found time to edit the videos
Am stay in Phetchabun province for the past 13 yrs after leaving $ingabore. Many nice mountain riding route like Khao Kho & Phu Tub Berk around here. You also don't see big hordes of foreign tourist around
Enjoy watching your videos. What is your average distance you ride in a day?
hmm for me, I prefer more exploring so my distance covered is little. If average out maybe only 200km a day
khob khun kub ajarn 👀🙏🏻
Nice videos.. compared to my another account.. 🤣🤣 Wait I free then redo my videos.. haha
i wanna do a solo trip...
Love your videos! Keep it up Ben :-)
thanks so much for the kind words 😊
Interesting and awesome videos so far. Thanks for sharing. Music is very entertaining. Just do you Ben. Everything is subjective as everyone has their own opinions. Just take good care of yourself while riding around.
Have the same reason as you! No way am I spending hours going to school too 💀
You are so cool 😎
finally! awesome video again.
been riding my 2b bike for almost a year now. so excited to get a bigger bike to travel up north!
nice! 2A would be more than sufficient. but properly learn the bike first before going far 😅
@@sornglor5552B bike can annot?
@@regen2787 ofcourse can, and its easier also especially if u go the abnormal roads. just the long highways slower
Amazing bro! Always wanted to ride up to Thailand but didn't have the courage. Hopefully, I'll do it one day!
Thanks for the documentary your journey and it going to inspire me for such activities soon.
When will u be going for your next ride
Would be nice if you could put sub for your interactions with the locals. Nice video with chill vibes. 😁
Hi I did the captions for it, have to turn on CC on youtube 😊👍🏻
Bro, find ur thai convo skills very power sia
🙏🏻khob khun kub
Will more voiceover than text be better? but: 1. the video will be longer as speaking is slower 2. less chill thai music What are your preferences?
รวมๆ กันก็ดี พูดบ้าง text บ้าง music บ้าง แต่อย่าดังเกิน บางทีอยากฟังเสียงลม เสียงบรรยากาศจริง
@@ideensamalle597 Okay ขอบคุณครับ 👌🏻 will try
This is the trip I want! Super comfortable
Loving the series… looking forward to the next episode!
If possible, try to upload faster! hahah. Your videos are so satisfying. Also, try to include day x/30 and more interactions with locals might be even better too.
Okay noted on day/30 and interactions 👍🏻🙏🏻 Thanks for the feedback
Agreed! Your video is the best
Nice vids bro, waiting for the loop
yay!
Videos definitely better than previous ones, thanks for captioning.
@@cloutd1750Thank you, trying to improve 1 small thing every video 😂
@@sornglor555 was thinking maybe you can additional add your "planned routes" / impromptu changes you made. what are the random finds you personally find interesting or what you missed out on that you would like to go back again for.
@@cloutd1750 Ah sounds good, will write those in. Except for planned routes, because there is no planned route HAHAHA. For every place, I actually ask people I chat with where is good to go next. I think I can explain in the video in MHS loop 😊
nice video again....:)
finally
Waiting for you at Pa Miang
