Bank fishing the Brazos River with my son.
My ten year old son and I fishing for box fish. We landed over thirty fish, lost eleven and kept fifteen. The bite was on fire with non stop action.

In this video we show how to make an easier balloon rig. This improved way you are able to use any rig setup i.e. three way santee cooper. Even sinker weight size don't matter. It was a slow day, but we did manage to land a small fish. Over all great day out with the kids fishing.

As a cat man i was first confused when they put a tracker in the fish and then even more confused when they didnt cut that big girl into slabs. That said, i now get what was going on and appreciate their efforts. These guys do what they do so we can do what we do

Here in Oklahoma City we use the balloon like a bobber since one of the lakes isn’t that deep. We use anywhere from 1oz weight to I’ve seen guys using 7-8oz weights to keep the balloon from flopping around. No matter what our main goal is to keep that damn balloon on our lines.

@@BigBiteMafiaTV yes, sometimes Arcadia drifting the bait into the old river channel using a lifesaver to hold it off the bottom until it gets some distance of the bank. That lake is deeper compared to overholser

You should do ok in Murrell Park. Thats if the park is open. The lake is flooded and haven't been there in awhile because of it.

How do you know what part of the lake to fish to have a chance of catching a large catfish like that? If I was to go to Whitney, where would be a good area to fish?
I recommend you look at your charts and find humps near a channel or channel near a cove. Found these after moving to three different spots mentioned.... good luck
Two questions: 1. Why did you cut off the dorsal fin of the perch? 2. What is going on from 8:50 to 9:25?
Thanks for watching. The reason I cut the fins is because, I use circle hooks. I have had times when the fins get in the way of the hook tip, which has caused a missed bite. To answer your second question am a member of an organization that tracks trophy catfish. www.txtca.org is their website if your intrested in looking them up.

@@LoneStarCatFishing also cutting the dorsal spines allows the preditor fish to get the baitfish inside his mouth without obstruction of having to crush the bait first. We also do that when live bait fishing with hardhead seacatfish. And we break the pectoral fins so they are eaten quickly.
