Is basically just a parking lot with some views and a small memorial and some facilities. It is also where the appalachee trail crosses center of the...

Nobody gives a f*** Jesus man I was just trying to find out how to take the headlight off
I did it as Tim said and it is pretty easy and works great. Thank you Tim for the tip.
Many Thanks!
Honest info. Thanks for the honesty regarding Happy Trails. Great products. Sketchy availability.
Thank u for the correct video, and showing the service manual. Just watched one saying u had to lay the bike on its side LMAO. Then watched one where bro turns bolt out 1/4 turn {wrong} then cranks it super tight {VERY wrong, thats what cracks the arm}. 115lb torque is for the '22 and newer, 78lbs is for the older Gen's that had the weaker spring arm
I also have the T-Rex center stand which I love. Just now attempting to install the JNS lowering brackets and discovered the spacing problem you describe. Since I also found the nut inside my mounting box is no longer tack welded. I am going to cut open the mounting box in the morning to make the necessary repairs. I plan to increase the bolt size to M10 and while I'm fabricating I plan to make an entire plate to take up the space needed to keep the center stand bracket spaced out to proper alignment. My bike is a 2023 KLR-650. Thanks for your video. For some strange reason it is nice to know I'm not the only one experiencing this problem.
Really nice bike and great mods for it. Really like the nifty tool can below the bag. I bought a 2002 ZG1000 Im in the process of going through and upgrading things. You have lots of good ideas I will consider in doing mine. Thanks!
Hold wide open
That never worked either
After you add the relay are those auxiliary light spots running power all the time or do you need to purchase a switch to turn them on or off??
Scam the plactis melted from the oil😂
@@thexrs7062 the new ones are polycarbonate they won't melt with the oil. They have an updated design they replace mine free of charge and it's been perfect ever since.
There's another white capped power lead in the "bucket" beside the heated grips connector you pointed out. Is that another open ignition powered port?
@@cryagen2105 my apologies it's been while since I made this video. But if I recall there were wires coming out of the other side of that connection. Might not look that way in the video but I believe it did.
I have a 2023 KLR and has 2,300 miles and the temperature is 95*F and it takes 2 to 3 trys to cold start the bike.. When its warmed up it cranks first time.. My cold start idles slow for 2 seconds then goes into a faster idle. I was thinking the ecm had something to do with the idle but the compression release or fuel pump is what i may be thinking also.. VERY CONFUSED.. thanks.
Nice tips dude thanks for your help
@@RotaBrasilUSA no problem maybe you'll see me there sometime
Fantastic
I got a 09 Connie with 18k miles for a steal. Out of all the mods you have done, what would start with first. And also does your GPS or phone ever overheat on those hot days?
Never had my GPS overheating. A couple times my phone has ceased charging because of overheating issues but not the function of the phone itself. Once it cooled off a bit it resume charging. Number one thing I did with this bike when I bought it was ergonomics. Since I'm a Sasquatch of a man 6'4" and 280 lb I went with a taller windscreen lowered pegs and a more comfortable seat.
Base model has fuse in it already, or mine did anyway, 2024 S model.
This is a great video. Thanks for the info. Almost ate shit today when my ABS kicked in on the trail and realized I needed to disable it. I'll be upgrading my bike asap with this.
Done! And it works perfectly. I extended it out to the dash but more or less the same mod. Thanks again for the advice
Do you know where we can get replacements?
amzn.to/3ReEqIo
@@2talltimadventures Thank you sir.
still got concours ? there the best great video
Yes sir. She's my baby it will never be sold.
I watched it twice. Man you have some great tips!! I just got my 2010 concours.
Thanks for watching. Hope it helped you out
I did this and the fuse blew 🤷🏻
Strange I've never had that happen. Sure you don't have it grounded out somehow or maybe just a faulty fuse
@@2talltimadventures I’m guessing faulty fuse, plugged the plug back into the clutch and it was fine. Ordered the 3D plug today.
While it worked I loved the way it ran
I quit watching after the shot of the Nice CNC China oil filter cover.
Okay?
I ordered the 3DCycle plugin. Should be here Monday. It was pretty cheap, so if I hate the mod, I won't be sad to take it out.
I’ve been looking into concours and from what I’ve gathered the last year to get upgrades was 2010. Do you recommend 2010+ or pretty much all generations?
Great job showing us around Tim! Thanks.
Remove your mask
This is important but the "doohickey" replacement is not necessary on the 2nd and 3rd Gen KLR's unless you really, really over torque the adjustment bolt which could crack the "doohickey", and then over time engine vibration could cause it to break. So never overtighten the adjustment bolt and you are good.
I'm looking for crash bars that work with the Adventure model. These are not the ones. : (
From what I understand yes they do work with the OEM bars. Just ask them to confirm that
They do work with the adventure..I just put em on my 2024 adventure
Thanks for sharing, very helpful!
Tire pressure monitoring system ??? Wtf ?
Saved my ass a couple times on other bikes
Any updates? It's a shame the only aftermarket for the oil filter cover is NiceCNC. If it was a Tusk, IMS or Moose Racing part, I'd be all over it. But, just the NiceCNC stamp just feels cheap if ya know what I mean. I see what I did wrong with my oem cover on my 2003 now. Broke the oem at the right side bolt. Oem is $67.
I don't own the bike any more but the new owner says it's holding strong.
Do i have to drain the oil to adjust it?
Negative
When you load and sit on the bike, does the rear spring compress? I'm beting the answer is yes. Yet you do that for hundreds of miles and it's OK. I'm not saying crank straps until you bottom out the suspension but some compression won't wreck anything.
just purchase a 2023 base model. great info to know in the future. Thanks
Perfect! Thanks!
Great video thanks! Did u need to run new throttle cable for the risers/bars?
Just did this to mine. Thanks for laying it out
i did it for 1st time other day and tapped slowly with rubber hammer. I heard spring sound after few smacks. Re tighten to specs and good to go. Thank you
very well done. I appreciate your mods and the pro taper bar is one that I will definitely add to my KLR as well. Thanks bud. * I know your project was sold but anything good on the KLR, mods and such good information I revisit regularly to improve my own knowledge. Stay up.
I am really confused.... That made such a huge difference. I hated the fact that my KLR felt like it had a Jake brake on it, now that I bypassed it, it is like a new bike, so much smoother. I guess it would be kind of interesting to rig it up to like the pass light momentary switch for those times you do feel like having a jake bake on your KLR HAHAHAHA. Has anyone figured out what Kawa was trying to do with this? I can't think of any reason you would want that much engine braking on a KLR, when I first got the bike I thought something was wrong with it. Ohh what I wanted to say, Is there any reason I would want to put like a rubber plug inside there to prevent corrosion? is there any scenario in which I would ever want to plug it back in?
It's a fuel cut to reduce fuel consumption. With it bypassed you eliminate that fuel cut. So fuel efficiency it the main reason they do it.
@@2talltimadventures huh, I guess that does make sense. I think it was a bit dangerous because on a downshift the rear tire would slide a lot easier. almost like when you are trying to pop start a bike. I guess if you match rpms instead of dump the clutch it’s probably not the same but I went from a 2 stroke to that thing and it felt really wacky.
What size wire did you use to assemble the lead to the abs module? Thank you for the video!
I'm pretty sure it was a 10 gauge if I'm not mistaken
Your Happy Trails comment is spot on, I just bought something from them, and they gave me 3 tracking numbers, and none of them track... I am at a point where I think I'll never see my stuff.
Happy trails makes wonderful products but under the new management or ownership or whatever's going on there it is going downhill quick on customer service. That Casey that runs it now is running it into the ground.
the knock off atlas cruise control is 7 dollars cheaper on TEMU. Have to see if it's any difference. Going to try it on my 08 klr 650
I would have bought an 08 if it wasn't neutron silver. I got an 09 in black. Still have it.
I just picked up a 2022 KLR last week.
Why did you sell it what did you replace it with?
kawasaki now that proble , but de does nothing to improeve it , schame on you kawasaki
wierd, my 2023 doesn't seem to have this issue? I might try it anyway.. maybe my baseline is off.. i rode a carbed xr650l years prior, and it was a hard starting rough idling sob for a showroom bike... throttle response was delayed also, didn't do daves mods.. but i also ride a vstrom dl1000 and habe owned over 27 bikes.. i didn't notice anything wierd about my new klr
