US Army Basic Training Episode 2: The Obstacle Course
Sure got changed since October 1982, Disney Barracks Ft.Knox KY. 19D.
This place is fucking hell. Hope your only there for two weeks and not a month or more like some people I knw
Only Cav Scouts/Troopers get to Fidlers green, man 5-15 echo Troop was the real troop.Got out with a general under honorable conditions, the best CSM i had in the Army at 25 I.D.,3rd Squadron 4th Cavalry regiment,3rd Brigade Combat Team was CSM Kinard, happy to see that he is the CSMof the 194th Armor brigade, hope to see all troopers in Fidlers green/Heaven someday. If I had it over to do again I would still choose the Cav,but I would get in better condition for sure.Veteran/Soldier/19 Delta for life,God Bless the Cav.
87 days at 30th ag I should’ve gotten a combat patch and free therapy for Life
These guys were lucky to have blankets. For my two week stay there we were only given one sheet to sleep with and no pillow at all.
I enjoyed being in the field for 3 days and soaking wet for my entire forge experience more than one day at 30th ag. This place is worse than prison.
I was in FT Benning with the 198th Infantry Brigade in 2020 for Basic and AIT. Training was similar but very different from what is pictured here. I still believe in singling out the weak links and getting yelled at. People might think it's unnecessary, but small mistakes in this career can and WILL get your men killed.
I study traditional Japanese jujutsu this hand to hand will be cake
Can't wait to learn how to track and all the other awesome Scout training knowledge I'll be a part of Mark my words I will do everything to be decorated with the Army Distinguished Cross and a Silver Star at least show some good sack for going for those decorated honor medals it will happen damn straight
Just wanted to say f 30th been 2 years since my one week stay but that week felt like 7 years most unprofessional disgusting and disgraceful cadre you’ll ever meet one “DS” in particular would drink from his flask while getting us to are vaccinations, the others belittle you and make you feel worthless and turn the temp in the bay to 99 degrees at 2am worst feeling ever being there feels like torture f 30th
30th fuckin sucked man. Well so did Infantry OSUT.
19D is going away though…
“God please put me out of my misery” *There is no God here…*
At 30th someone wrote on the walls “if god loved you he wouldn’t have sent you to 30th AG”
if u ain't cavalry u a'int!!!!2/11 a.c.r. 80's europe!!!!
Did they graduate from Knox?
They ain’t form Knox, they’re not scouts
I said what I said
Why are the America patches removable? I was a soldier. In fact, I was a 19D.
They gotta do all the obstacles?
I was there and this is bullshit
I went through 30th AG in May 2003. Time flies.
Much better info. The videos are getting better
I testd out for this Mos thats what i want. No wonder the 11 Bravos swayed me from being a cavalry Scout after this i will see if i will be excepted into Sniper School and the biggest hope is to be a 75th regiment Ranger
It was not like this, where is the course? And who are these DS.Nothing like this, Wow! Ft. Dix NJ Delta co 4th bn 5th tn brigade 3rd Heard, 1984 . Drop Forgers.
I graduated Cav osut from B 5-15 Aug 29th 2024
My 17 year old son was swore in a few weeks back and is scheduled for Basic at Ft. Benning June 25 then they said he'll be stationed at Ft. Knox. He signed up for infantry and told me he wants to be a Ranger I am so proud and so scared at the same time. I couldnt of asked for a better kid! Hes so special to me and im so so proud!
30th AG was a Blur to me other than the stupid peanut butter shot
I can smell this video and i hate it.
This dosnt even look hard anymore this at this point is summer camp ofc i havnt been in BCT let alone the army however it looked harder before now its just easy
This is what a regular Marine goes through in Basic. No hate but facts. Marines do it better.
Ft Benning, GA....1980....Today's Army is a joke....'Full Metal Jacket' was my basic training.....
I leave tomorrow 2024/05/08 i cant wait.
I joined in 2001. I got to 30th in October. It was right after the towers fell. Everything seemed unreal. The massive influx of recruits was insane. We were having to sleep everywhere but outside. It was so packed. Within days there were already guys threatening suicide and going home. It was a sad pathetic bunch. That place was HELL. Eat, sleep, stand in line, repeat. The thing that kept me going was that you could hear the cadence and screaming from the actual cycles down range. Those echos kept us all knowing our day was coming. Sadly after 2 weeks at 30th they moved most of us to a different holding facility to wait. Not basic training. I don’t even think it had a name. It was the epitome of bare essential place to sleep. Jail was worse. The place was dilapidated. And we stayed there for another 4 weeks. In all I waited 6 weeks before meeting my drill sergeants and actually marching down range. The excitement was indescribable. The only good thing that came out of waiting so long before actual basic training was we were all used to a routine and the basic Army way of life. We had time to read the manuals and practice the creed. They didn’t let us workout though in case we were to get injured then we couldn’t go down range. But we did anyway. But yea, 30th AG and for the next 6 weeks after were a lot like prison. But the fact that 9/11 had just happened there was something different in the air. We all took it very seriously and the nostalgia of the buildings and red dirt really hit us hard. Everyone bonded that much more because of 9/11. And we knew we were ALL getting deployed as soon as our 15 weeks were up. I was Airborne so 18 weeks. All in all I was in training at Benning for almost 6 months. They did let us go home for Christmas. They called it Christmas exodus? The whole damn base went home for the holidays. Anyway sitting here now, 45 years old, as much as many things sucked at the time, I’d give anything to go back and do it again. Anyone else feel that? Remember those long dreary rainy days in the field waiting your turn to do something? Field chow from the defac in those green plastic containers? Ugh. Always cold. I remember getting served frozen bananas and waffles once. I lost so much weight. When I graduated I was in the best shape of my life! I think any one of us can say that. Man I miss it. I must be crazy but I miss it. Delta Dogs is who we are… boom boom we won the war… 2nd platoon wolf pack. Hooah!
I enlist active duty as 11B the 13th, anyone have any lists of what exactly you do at Reception BN?
SCOUTS OUT!!!
God bless you and thank you for your service. ✝️🇺🇸🥊Coach Mando from the Alamo City.
thats gonna be me soon how im going to react and all
Hahahahahaha. Ya those E-4 and below spend 99% of their existence doing maintenance and equipment lay outs!! Hahahahaha. Motor pool hero! They’ll hit a firing range twice a year then get force fed training for a month or so before getting sent overseas. It’s a joke.
Nice to see paper tigers out of real battle fields.🤣😂
If you ain’t Cav….💪🏾
That is the smallest captain I have ever seen lol

I’ll take, “make the new guy do it” for $500 Alex
When did you get your EIB?
Ol chance miller!
Good job soon enough you will make friends and have fun protecting your country
cannon fodder.
Good job private.....keep that attitude and your time in the military will be much more advantageous. Stay away from MOST of the barracks parties, don't get a Mustang or Charger at a high interest rate and take college courses. Keep the great attitude!
You should be proud!! Keep strong, and stay on your path to be your best!!
