I like how Jedi is stacking the 3 coaching levels of competencies ACC PCC MCC I’m looking forward to deeper understanding with my coaching.
This is so true => "My role there is not to think about the next question to ask, but listen beyond what client is saying and deep inner cry of the client."
I'd have done something differently, and I haven't started coaching yet so looking for honest feedback. Here's what I'd have done: The same for the first few minutes, asking open questions, making sure I've understood what he said and where he's at. I'd have asked earlier on (I like to pause and think of my response before hearing the coach's response), "what's the appeal to each option?", which he did eventually, answer being he's curious to see if the coaching can work but is drawn a tiny bit more to the potential management offer because it gives more certainty in financial security. Call me crazy but at that point (about 12 minutes in), I would have suggested I refund this coaching session, and suggest he invest that money he paid into hiring a business coach, with a coaching business niche [and warned what to look for and what to avoid]. I would explain that I'm not saying he should go for the coaching root, but it may be worth exploring strategy options, creating a business plan of sorts, and learning more about how he can set up his business and what the options are to do so, and what that might look like. I'd also explain that it doesn't guarantee that his business will work out, or when exactly he can consistently pay bills with it, but it would give him a clearer sense of what the coaching path would more realistically look like, and thus put him in a position to make a more informed decision. So he's still making the decision for himself, but will be in a better position to make a decision. I don't feel he felt in much a better position to make a decision at the end of this session. What do you all think?
Thanks for sharing 😊
I can relate to the client 😊
I have a question please: Can a coach ask a "why question" to a client, or is it a leading question? Thanks!
Finding your channel is a miracle! 🎉 Thanks a lot!
The only NLP that exists is Natural Language Processing. Anything else is BS.
This was such a wonderful video. Thank you!
I am glad you are back ! Always insightful videos !
Great information and helpful!
The misconception of freedom and control, when starting a business?!? Someone needs to let him know. There may eventually be some freedom, but the work needed to build a business takes so much time and mental/physical energy.
This entire video was superb from beginning to end. Thank you
This has really helped me with my assignment, thank you so much for using launguage that I can understand !
When a child is pinned under the car, Moms suddenly have super powers to lift the car, because they see things in a different frame, and allow us to do different and do different! Amazing! ❤
Many closed questions.....
If a client wants to use the session for exploring something, how can the smart goal be formulated?
I couldn't hear the client formulating a Smart goal... Or have I missed it? 😮
I so appreciate the clarity that you have brought onto this subject for me! I look forward to coming back to this after some coaching and seeing how I do with picking up the techniques you so generously shared. I also look forward to exploring more of your videos. Thank you thank you!!
Which one is.right for the client? Should we actually have to coach in MCC level?
This was a painful experience for me to get through. I'd feel foolish for paying for this experience.
Can you explain what was painful for you?
@OldManOnTrak the questions don't illicit any emotions, the they don't directly the client to go deeper, it's formulaic. And what is it, and what do you, and what does that, and what would. At the end the client basically say Im going to do is what I was what I was wondered if I should do which is work on coaching and take a good job if it comes up. No development. No reframing, no searching for new opportunities to practice the skill of coaching, no empathizing. He also uses leading questions to inform the efficacy of the session. "I can see a sense of lightness on this topic since we began, do you feel lighter?"
@@illiJomusicthis is the identical observation I have.
I can identify with client. Thanks for sharing.
Am a learner coach and i have been following every single video that you share.the way you embody the competencies within you so completely is truly amazing!!
Jedi you are an amazing coach!!
Thanks so Jedi. I am studying to be a coach and am currently doing Coaching with NLP module and this video has really helped me grasp the Toward/Away Meta and how to adapt my coaching skills.
I want to join NLP program
What happen if vibe between coach and coachee has significant gap?🤔
Too many unnecessary words. Would be nice if you show a practice and then comment
Great video. Thanks
I've been enjoying your teaching. Can you provide a few examples of closing the conversation well or point to a video tutorial. Thanks!
Beautiful examples of 'how to listen beyond what the client is saying'. Coaching at Mastery level makes it look so simple because coaches like Jedidiah are embodying and living the process . I am going to share this video with coaches I'm currently mentoring for accreditation to help them understand what ICF coaching at its best looks like.
speak slowly
Thank you for nice explanation. Just a small correction, Last D is Destiny, not Deliver.
What a shift @Jedidiah Alex you were able to bring about, your presence was amazing..great learnings for me as a coach from this coaching conversation
Excellent explanation on CC3 - 3.1, Jedi.
Hi Jedi, Missing your videos ! So inspiring !
Does the ICF make it mandatory to have a WRITTEN Coaching Agreement? Please advise. Thanks.
Make a lot of sense. Thank you.
