One person owning another person as their property is immoral, evil, and cruel. It was then and it still is today. That is the message that should be sent out for people to understand. Paul did not undermine the legitimacy of slavery, because he sent Onesimus back to his slave-master, Philemon, with a personal request that Philemon not punish Onesimus too harshly for having escaped. Paul did not ask Philemon to free Onesimus, nor did he ask Philemon not to punish him for escaping. He simply stated that Onesimus had been useful to him and asked Philemon to take that into account before meting out punishment. Nothing in all this undermined the legitimacy of slavery.

at about the 22 minute mark you state "hating or loving your brother is a 'barometer' of your salvation". There is no 'barometer' of salvation, our salvation was paid in full at the cross, and there is no analog measurement for this. There is nothing we can add or subtract to change our position in Christ. Perhaps you meant to say "hating or loving your brother is a barometer of your sprituality"...or carnality.

Thank you, this is beautiful, I too left the Mormon Church, for the same reason, realizing Jesus is not created and is eternal, and knowing that Mormonism believes He was an exalted man who became a god, I left and never looked back, so very grateful and grateful for you too.

Every Baptist Church I have ever been involved with deceives its congregation by omitting to address certain scriptural issues. They make up excuses instead. They claim to read in context while reading out of context. I know there may be exceptions to the rule but generally speaking I consider anything with the word Baptist in it to be a cult. They don't preach the false gospel as much as they do an incomplete one. Most of them are prime examples of: lies by omission.

Food for thought: The Romans often used a stick on a sponge soaked in vinegar to wipe a person's butt after crapping. No lie - look it up. Leaving the LDS group is a great and a new and fresh beginning. They are a bit like Jehovah's Witnesses, or Scientology or even Christian Science. What a grateful heart I have obtained eliminating Joseph's myth (joseph smith/joseph's myth) and all of his crazy lies from my life. If God could reach down and touch me and restore my life into a new and fresh relationship with the living Christ, I have very little to worry about. Thank you all for all of the sincere prayers.

To those who have left the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints because you are a Lesbian or a homosexual person or bisexual.... I would quote to you "And if men (and women) come unto me I will show them their weakness, I give unto them weakness that they may be humble and my grace is sufficient for all who humble themselves before me... for if they humble themselves before, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them."God loves you and I and even though we have these weaknesses he can help us. Come back to the Church and just trust in the Lord and He will help us. I have overcome much and testify that God will always forgive us and help us back home.
