...to compete with Hammond? Really??? Sorry, that must have been a joke.
How do you play minor chords on this?
I used this instrument to improvise a soundtrack for a short film my friend made in 1998. Available in Vimeo. Called “Walls come Down” by B. Weiss.
is this still up? I cant seem to find it
I got one today. Model 300. Number 2386.
I had and loved one of these growing up.
sometimes i come check in on this video... lol ten years ago! was just made for an ebay sale... ending up costing more to ship than what i paid for it lol :)
Christmas of 1968 , this organ was sold for 24.99 and it came with 5 music books each containing approximately 7 to 10 songs in each book. My neighbors mother worked at the Magnus organ factory in Linden, New Jersey and she gave me this information of what she remembers.
google says that's about $220 in today's money. damn.
We had one. I remember playing with it as a young child.
I just bought one of these! For about $65
you need a ipod classic 160 gigabyte to download more songs from itunes such as the #1 song in the world called uptown funk
Breather POWER
I had one of these when I was a kid in the late 60's.

Would love to have WHITER SHADE OF PALE for a chord organ. Does anyone have a book or sheet music for that song. I appreciate it .
I want to learn how to play.I have one untill now I've been wanting to learn how to play it.
I can play
I have an aqua blue model Magnus Tempo definitely from 1968 but it's chord keys are actual keys, not buttons. Yours must be a little newer than 1968 because it looks more like one my parents bought by kids for use in their home circa late 80s - early 90s. The legs are tubular for mine, flat for the kids'. Generally, the 1968 and early Magnuses (plural?) were brown in color.
I had one of these (from Woolworths).
I have one tring to find out the value excellent condition.
How much for it?
I have a box of Books for this organ, I own 4 Magnus organs. I'm selling 2 ones a KENT but the same as the Magnus. The books have up to date songs like 70's 80's 90's, oldies, Spiritial, All in good condition. See Craigslist LaCrosse Wisc.
This post may be too old by now but i am looking for music books or sheet music for this organ. I loved playing it when i was a kid and it has sat at my parents house and is still good. I wanted to let my granddaughters play it but i can't find the song books that i had. Anyone know where I could get some?
I'm pretty sure Julian Koster plays this.
Saw Neutral Milk a feeks ago in Prospect Park. He's def the coolest in the band.
***** I was at that show!
The Magnus chord organ looks very similar to the accordion.
Wow that really does have good sound
Yes Pygmy, I think they may all be tuned about 50 cents flat. I have a concertina that sounds exactly the same as this instrument and is also tuned that way. It must have something to do with the reeds in the instrument.
So i have a doubt... is like half tune down?, i have one but i really dont know, if its he sound, or wut.
shut up and take my money . oh i dont have money
sell it in pawn stars . ahaha
Nope... It's pretty much an accordion with a fan inside. Plug it in, and instead of having to squeeze anything (like on a harmonium), there's a fan spinning to blow air over the plastic reeds which produce the notes when you open the holes up by depressing the keys/buttons.
I have that exact same organ, its cool.
Wow! I actually figured out what type of keyboard my grandmother has in her living room!
Daniel Johnston! Woo!
Thats the one I have.... Love it :)
My parents have had one of these for as long as I can remember. Now that I'm somewhat of a musician, I'm going to try incorporating it into my music (after a little dusting of course)
it would be great to do Mosquito's song from QotSA in this organ, you agree?
I have the larger version of this and I used to play it CONSTANTLY as a kid. I just got a call from my younger sister saying she dragged it up from the basement and has been playing it. That thing was a blast. I miss it.
can it be plug into an amp?
Daniel Johnston actually played a Magnus chord organ on Yip Jump Music/Hi, How Are You?. This is awesome.
You sure it was a Magnus, I heard it was an Botempi in some sources.
@@dreamsR4real It was definitely a Magnus, probably from late 60's
just bought this baby for 30 bucks...love it!!
