What category would my service dog fall under in that list when she provides pressure therapy for a medical condition, interstitial cystis attacks, which are very physically painful. It is not a psychiatric condition.

That’s is like my dog. She’s is slow at eating to the point. We can have a like gravity feeder because we know she won’t overeat but as soon as you pull out people food, she will come and just be like yeah I’m starving.😂

Idk what to do tbh. I have anxiety, depression, skin picking disorder, and adhd. (SELF DIAGNOSED EXEPT FOR ADHD SO MAYBE NOT 100% ACCURATE) I don’t know what to do because I’ve tried talking to people and that doesn’t help. I hate medications because they have side effects. Like 7th grade I was a twig because I didn’t eat cuz of my adhd medicine. And idk what to do cuz I feel not worthy of a service dog because I don’t have panic/anxiety attacks too frequent. The last one I had was a couple weeks ago. I can get out of bed in the morning it just takes me a bit. I’m also terrified to talk to my parents about it. I haven’t gone to a therapist and I’m nervous to do that too. I know I need help I just don’t know how to ask.

I have depression, anxiety and autism, I’ve had many mental breakdowns at home and out in Public, I’m currently working on training my dog, but I’m afraid I don’t have enough of a condition to have a service dog, I rly think he would help but idk if I do, I skin pick on my fingers and nail bite, I’m constantly leg bouncing and get overwhelmed constantly and have breakdowns, what do you think?

I saw rawhide treats in the treat drawer, they are dangerous for dogs and can cause serious medical issues. They can not digest rawhide and it can become lodged in their intestinal track. Please buy better treats for your dog, it isn't worth spending thousands at the vet for a cheap treat.

I recently just learned about the help of migraine and psychiatric service dogs.... and about two or three days ago saw a video on mobility aide and loved seeing a more thorough description here. My interest in that area of training is that some of the mobility tasks match with symptom of the derealization/depersonalization episodes I get at times. It had never occurred to me that was the case til I saw the other video and now this great, clear listing of tasks in this area. There are only a couple that would apply to my functioning and safety during an episode but those would have a massive real-world effect. And I never thought about the aide to sight issues because I don't have a full-time sight issue. I've episodes of reduced vision like during dereal/depers episodes. I really appreciate you expanding on the information available about service dogs. I'm looking primarily into PSDs and their tasks, but those overlap with so much!

This is what happens when I overstimulate with all my sensory issues. a lot of this happens with individuals on the autistic spectrum when they get overwhelmed in their environment, causes a lot of anxiety like a brain shutdown. before I had Freja,I would disassociate all the time in the environment. It was my way of getting through all the overstimulation. This is a very common thing with individuals on the autistic spectrum including Asperger’s syndrome. I like the way you explained how to train the task step-by-step. I am training Freja as an autism spectrum disorder assistance dog/Asperger’s syndrome.assistance dog. I really like your approach to task training. Freja is so inclined with my Asperger’s syndrome and how to respond to the anxiety part of it. I really need to train her on cueing the task instead of her doing it naturally.

These kind of videos are so fun to watch so I’m glad you make them and thanks so much for including VoiceOver what you do because someone with low vision that is very helpful. I’ve recently started teaching my service dog to press accessible door buttons and was really surprised with how quickly she picked it up and that she really seem to like task. I wasn’t sure if she would since nothing else I needed to do requires her stand on her back legs like that and so I didn’t know if she might be bothered by it but she really seem to enjoy it and now sometimes even when I don’t need to press the button she’ll go up and try to get it anyway

I have a question if that is okay. How did you get luna to signal it when you are skin picking or dissociated? My dog knows what to do but only when I call her name because she doesn't see it happening when I don't call for her. Is that something that can be trained or do I just need to train this more and she will see it eventually?
