Those pigs are really motoring! I'm sure the extra space for runs will prove to be a good thing when they get even bigger. Just a quick thought-with the larger numbers per pen is one drinker bunker really sufficient especially when they are really winding loads of dry grub down themselves when physically larger. Perhaps being winter time they are OK but what about summer time?

Your drone flying in the wind is still better than mine! After two written off drones ive decided flying is for the birds,,so im going to train a canary to use my GoPro....

Jack, how many acres is that lime supposed to cover - about 1 ton / acre? (pH below 6.0 is really bad for crop performance). I suggest that you check this out this application rate with your fertilizer supplier and ask also about other essential minerals such as magnesium, manganese and sulphur. I ask because it does not sound like enough to me especially with barley which is particularly sensitive to soil acidity. I would think that on light sandy soils you will need to go again with a further dose in the early spring time next year. Remember also that lime is needed by all plants to make use of Nitrogen whether from natural or artificial sources such as urea or ammonium nitrate or sulphate. Dan

Do you load and spread your own lime or is it a supply and apply deal with a merchant for you? We used to apply it whenever the tackle could travel without causing ruts Autumn was favorite or early spring but we have evn applied it when the ground was frozen hard but this did cause some wheel damage to the small crop.
