Hardcore fans desparately searching for excuses why JLB is not as terrible as he actually sounds... No, it is not only his age. In case you don't know: He was younger earlier. And still sounded embarrasingly bad, for decades meanwhile (was great in the beginnig, no doubt). Not being able anymore to reach certain highs... granted. But he many times is totally off with literally everything. Plus, he is audibly forcing his voice to do what it can not do anymore. That ruins it even more every time. There is a point when a professional in any kind of profession has to recognize that it is over. Loose a leg - don't play football anymore. Loose your voice - don't sing anymore. He is the very reason why I don't buy a ticket. The rest of the band is obviously great.

How can you say James sings better? I feel like he's struggling. I'd prefer playback at this point!

I think this is JLB's last album with Dream Theater and this one of the last live turns, Mike comes back, this 40th anniversary turn and this last album is kind of a farewell for James.

London - Berlin - Cologne - Milan - James ist getting better every show. I was in London and Cologne and that was a huge difference. But also being in London and listening to James in person sounded better than all previous tours.

I was there, wow.

A little note to all over-critical and self-proclaimed singing experts: James will always be the singer of Dream Theater, in good days and bad, and that's a damn good thing, because the way he is treated with hostility in the comments has nothing to do with his actual performance. Just because he doesn't hit the notes cleanly here and there, doesn't mean he has to be showered with scorn and ridicule right away. The others also make mistakes, but it's easier to hide them in the band structure while James with his clear and high voice has no other singers to hide behind, so you can hear every little slip with him. So wash your ears and come to reality you good-for-nothings.

Wow Labrie is great in this one. Out of the songs in this killer setlist, I was not in favor of this song as it it so high for him and he was not okay during the first show. Now he was able to make it somewhat decent!

They were beyond amazing yesterday, one of the best shows I've ever been to! They're all in incredible shape. I've read about a lot of people refusing to buy the tickets because of Labrie. Man, you don't know what you're missing; I'm truly sorry for you.

I was there last night in Milan and it was a wonderful concert!! It's true, La Brie has vocal problems but all in all she did well! I don't like Rudess who is too technical and excessive, but it's a personal taste, I know that many love him..But above all... the king of the drums is finally back!!! 😎❤️💯

I wish James would be in-tuned with the band

The overall sound was pretty bad on the first song in Milan yesterday, but they fixed it over the second and third piece. The rest of the concert was absolutely brilliant. Such a high end performance by each and every one. Perhaps the best performance I've attended, maybe only second to Rome 2005. Stream of consciousness-Octavarium knocked me out

he can sing all those high notes if he wants to , but he is a pro and must keep his voice healthy during a big tour , you can not imagine how hard the job he is doing ,DT songs are not for every "screamer" singer around , the range of these songs plus the soul ,depth and the vision they require is incredible that s why they have James,a very good combination of all these , the years they are together must tell something

James La Brie is up against his past brilliance!Unfortunately the relentless high tessitura of these pieces does not allow him to fudge it at all!!I would rather take the whole piece a semitone or tone down as needed instead of altering the line..He should take care of his voice just like a tenor does..no parties!!No talking between shows!!!That s life if you want to sing high!!!Great singer with many good years ahead of him!!All the best James!!
