I was honored to view this memorial along with other veterans on an Honor Flight from Missouri. Like the Vietnam Wall it has its own mystique. I noticed along with some of my fellow vets that no matter where you stand beside the area of the figures one of them is looking at you. If you move another takes his place. To quote George Patton " We should not morn these men for their death but thank God such men existed"

I did this in 2019 and really wanted to go back in 2020, but the bug came along. Now, the city does not seem to be the same and not one I would visit and feel safe. Sad what our national capital has become. 😢 But thanks for the memories.

Am I missing something? My father served on this ship in 1945 or so. All I see in the video is shots of exhibits, with no narration on explanation. A nice idea, but not terribly informative in the way the text above promises.
