Awesome enjoyed watching the build love the chassis in its raw steel basic but stunning at the same time 👌
This is insane and this is the holy grail for me. Please Tamiya, re-release these true classic ones from the late 70's and very early 80's.
Brilliant - looking forward to seeing the rest of this build.
Its up today ;)
@ great - thanks!
Nice one Rob, it’s good to see this being built from NIP parts. A trip down memory lane for some of us and it shows how different modern rc chassis are. I do like all the metal bits though, it somehow feels better than plastic.
Thank you, I think lots of people dream of owning the old metal chassis cars but never quite get to purchase one. I hope my vids help.
Awesome to see one of these OG models being built. Are you going to do a body for it?
Thanks mate. Yes, although I won’t paint or decal it. I’ll assemble it and mount the body for the video 👍
Do you have a video running one of them or the starting procedure..?
You have 2, very nice!! I have not published much of these bikes other than what you see on youtube and a little on Tamiyabase forum. As they are so rare I don't come across many people to speak about them and there are definitely not active forums out there. No, honestly over the last few years I have owned my bikes I have not restored or completed one to the point I can even start one. After this mechanism project I hope to build 1 or 2 up complete. What are you missing?
@purplerob1 THANK YOU for your Reply. One I got in Italy, and it was in perfect condition. The seller took very good care. The other one is from Australia and I got parts from England. I will renew my membership with the Rc Groups Motorcycle Forum this weekend. I am "Malcabro Racer." I want to keep in touch with you. I got an original photo from the designer demonstrating in public
This is so awesome. I have 2 and they need pants. Do you have a Forum where we can chat and post photos...? Can we have a link.
Wow, it's like Ali Baba's cave👍 The Team Atlas handwound armature could be interesting to anyone looking to build a quite "fast" brushed motor 👀
Thank you, it’s not quite what it used to be but I’m honestly happier with less 🤣. I just stress at what I have not completed etc with too much.
Great video Rob, love the Lambos and Porsches. A real treasure trove!
What you could do is measure the tyrell 6 wheeler front slicks inner/outer/width, I need some fresh tires on my kyosho 1/20 baja bug ultima, and tires are VERY difficult to find so I wonder it those would fit?, kyosho rear rims are 22mm diameter and the tires are 45 mm outside diameter thanks! 🙂
I am happy to try dig through anything for you if you saw something in my stash of parts. Reach out to me through Tamiyaclub ;)
@@purplerob1 i am not on tamiya club..............................
Please post more on this bike. As a avid RC and motorcycle fan, this bike has me so intrigued.
Good idea, it's probably only appealing to a small amount of people but totally worth doing as they are so rare. I have a few thoughts in mind. Hopefully you caught my strip down vid and from memory a video on the suspension parts.
Crazy how much engineering went into these. Great job Rob.
Thank you ;)
great result!
That was an absolute joy to watch - thanks Rob. I really hope we get to see a video (or videos) on the Countach.
@@AndrewClayton-q3w thanks mate, really appreciate the comment. Just deciding what order to do projects 😉
Very, very nice. Is that one of your re-manufactured bumpers?
Yes sir, you know it's funny as I went on to say it in the video but cut it out because I thought I already included it in part 1.
@@purplerob1 Not sure you mentioned it, I could have missed it. I remember you telling me a while ago that you’d made a few sets.
Awesome result Rob! Looks amazing done.
Appreciated mate. Looks like your channel is doing well, you must live on here posting + watching :) . I must pick your brain sometime if that's ok.
Perfect stand with an old school look 👍
Excellent, so good to see this vintage build. What does the reduction gear do?
I have no statistics on it but think it gears the car down to go slower. I've driven a few vintage models but must admit I've never run a 934 outside to test the speeds. The Countach 58005 has a similar reduction too.
@@purplerob1 exactly what the name of it suggests then. Funny because usually all the mods are to make them go faster!
Awesome job Rob. Great to watch you build this up. Once my new studio is done, I will be building up one of my green kits. Looking forward to the experience.
From new mate or did I see your post the other day with 2 resto bodies? Give me a shout if you have any body part odds and ends missing, I have some used spares.
The amount of NOS parts you have collected just blow my mind! I would love to see more of your collection, i’m intrigued about your motorcycles too.
Great video Rob, it’s good to see you working on a Tamiya build. It would be great to see more of your collection especially the Otaki stuff. That’s a great stash of spares as well. 👍👍
Very much appreciated. I’ll plan to give everyone a little nose at what hides behind the boxes 😁
That's going to be an epic build 🤩🤝
Great video Rob, fantastic to see a vintage build, the collection and the boxes of goodies!
Awesome video Rob. Nice to see you doing another 934.
thanks mate :)
Love the build Rob! I knew you had a lot of parts but not thát much 😅. Enjoy the build!
Thank you Koen, that’s my box of old orange tops. It isn’t quite the collection it used to be as I had a lot of SRB spares. Not as much now days 😊. Hopefully I got your sub 😜
Loving the video mate, looking forward to the next instalment
@@g0ldfish999 thanks mate. I didn’t realise it would take so long to film so imagine it’ll be 3/4 parts.
Very interesting. Nice video sir
Thank you. And as you say in your latest video. It’s nice to know someone is interested and watching. 😉
😎
Kindly, List the chemicals you used for and the process.
I bought my kit from Gateros plating on eBay whom list what’s supplied. I’m not really familiar with the exact chemicals but their instructions are fantastic.

No, Fortnite now. Join me some time?
Very nice work sir. I have also fitted one to my lathe. Makes a big difference.
Thank you so much. It’s about time I replaced the sharpie mark on the drill bit method 🤣

Hello, I have the extremely rare Graupner Kyosho Go Kart 10 NR 4939 New in original packaging for sale, it is now up for auction in the bay.
I have the Same, also NIB.
Absolutely amazing 👏 - i have all the kyosho 1/6th bikes - and 1 complete race rider 10 & 2 race riders in need of tlc - i also have the kyosho yz250 nitro bike in my collection
Very nice! the Rider 10 is really the one I am missing from my Kyosho bike collection. At some point I will hunt one out. The YZ250 is really where my Kyosho bike fascination started, I have a few :)
Nice work Rob. Keep the videos coming. They are very relaxing to watch.
Nice 👍
Lamborghini wing?
Yes it's the Countach top part of the wing, I recorded this video years and years ago to show someone but must have published instead of cleaning up my old videos. O well, I will leave it here.
Very nice job, you taking it for a spin? 😉
😂 got me back on the comments. Err no I’d crash it and smash it into a million pieces 😅. I can’t just about build a shell without it falling apart.
It looks great. You’d have to find a sports hall with a billiard table like surface to run on. Took the Ranger for a spin on up and down the drive. Now retired to the shelf.
Any chance of a face reveal rob the stob?😉😂
Looks lovely. I was wondering in the last video how on earth you were going to remember how it went back together!
Thanks, really appreciate the comment. I just got my zinc plating kit in so look out for some cool progress on the metal plates.
This is a VERY cool project. I am thoroughly enjoying the videos! Keep them coming! I wish they still made something like these.
Cute 🥰
Real vintage metal RC! you can't beat that! Looking forward to the endresult Rob!
Cheers, you know how long my project take me 😂
Incredible looking things😎👍🏻 Are they a generic race bike shape or based on a specific model. They have a look akin to something like the MV Agusta that Surtees used to race😎
I think you are spot on with the MV Agusta mate, I previous thought the Honda RC166 but looking at a couple of YT videos I agree.
Such special machines. Legendary things. Same goes for the man himself. I found myself face to face with him in the paddock at Goodwood once, him resplendent in period race overalls with his equally appropriate open faced lid in his hand. Was quite the dumbfounding experience… a little bit like bumping into god 😆
