Hey mate - what was the name of the tyre deflator you used? Thanks
It’s a Staun Tyre Deflator 👌🏻
Late to the party but if you pop two covers off and fold the rear seat down you can get straight onto the middle bolt for the rear seats. I get mine out in about 5 mins a side
Hey Aaron, you mention in this video clip that you have heard of a GVM upgrade for the Fortuner, would you be able to tell me who and where this is available. I have a 2021 model Fortuner and need an upgrade to be able to tow a caravan that I have on order. I live in Sydney and have been unable to find anyone that does this upgrade. Any help would be greatly appreciated, regards Glen
Gday Glen, Jump onto the Fortuner Forum or the Toyota Fortuner Forum on Facebook and have a quick search. The worst part is each individual state has different laws which will inhibit your outcome. When I was heavily researching this a couple of years ago QLD was the easiest place to get one and me being in WA was almost impossible. Generally speaking it’s only a 280kg gain and is also sometimes limited to the axel load. But specific shops I unfortunately can’t point you in the direction for one in NSW.
Shame it doesnt come in manual. Not sure why people buy automatic, manual is so easy to drive.
I guess that’s the way the market is moving. Earlier models had manual, however couldn’t tow as much. This is the first auto vehicle I’ve owned, and in most of the driving that I conduct I would say it’s better overall.
Good bloke good video love the real
Thanks Mate
Sorry mate when you put on the sport mode then shift to s4 ,you dont need to change any gears yourself after?
Nope, it will still run normally as an auto but only allow the highest gear to be 4th.
@GuestysAdventures thank you sir , how about the fuel consumption when you towing ,how many litres is sitting at?
So the bike’s handle bars takes the weight when lying on the floor not the actual rack ?
@@GuestysAdventures wow, that must me a design error. If there are 4 bikes the front bike would take the weight of the other three bikes
@@chrisjones1864 some of the weight.. not all of the weight.. the bikes themselves are still attached to the carrier which is still attached to the car.. so its not the same as a deadweight pressing on the handle bar which is what you may be thinking
I am looking to do a similar upgrader to my Fortuner. Who can do this so we don't mess with the warranty? Approx. what will it do to the GVM?
Very nice compressor 👍, I have one and am very happy with it. I have thrown a digital tyre gauge into the compressor bag to be able to check for accuracy.
Great video, just doing the calcs now for my camper and I don't know what the loaded weight of the car is, I can go and load up and get it weighed however seing as you have a similar config I was wondering if you knew what your Tuna fully loaded weighs.. I am guessing somewhere between 2500-2700
@@GuestysAdventures so that is fully loaded, 2 adults, bullbar , rear drawers, full tank of fuel and of course towbar
Can I ask how you go with the bullbar? I have an Ironman bar fitted, same as yours and it shakes the crap out of everything!
Picking up our GXL week today …..22 spec
Gday Guesty, do you think you can run a light bar on the bar with the radar in the badge?
@@GuestysAdventures Thanks Guesty 👍🏼
if you hit the ok button on your steering wheel when your sensors are annoying you it turns it off! 👍
Took my seats out to mate, thank god for TH-cam
Love your adventures mate! Awesome way you present!
Great info. Do you tow on the beach? How does it go?
@@GuestysAdventures thanks mate. My camper trailer only weighs 1050kg. I take it to Fraser, Bribie and Noosa all the time. I’m thinking of getting a Fortuner (tune it). Hoping the 2.8 can tow it on the beach. There is some tough stuff there though… hoping it’s up for it!
Bought crusade because it was ready we didnt had to wait months,, i m first timer to 4wd... And i m super impressed with its capabilities
@@GuestysAdventures great video mate!!! Fortuna looks great! I still struggling to decide between white pearl or grey! Hard choice! Yours is dark grey ?
thanks , i p!ssded my self laughing @8:10 whewn you asked us to come down here... we had no option , you took us down ;-). a heads up the area airbags or 'bigger' springs is not the same or as safe as weight distribution that moves weight ( traction) towards the front. But at about 1500 to 1800 kg and a ball weight of under 200kg its not going to be a problem on a larger vehicle.
Great video, cheers. Seems like relatively good value compared to the Prado
Great video. I'm waiting for delivery of a camper and will most probably replace my current vehicle (LexusRX330) with a Fortuner so your video's have been most helpful. I intend taking my bike(s) on adventures and decided the ISI carrier was the go. I have spec'ed the ISI on the camper build with the carrier to be mounted on the drawbar, but want to make sure I can move the bikes to my Fortuner in the future.. What were your major considerations when choosing how to mount the carrier on the camper & vehicle? I see you have a large gap between the carrier and the vehicle, what did you install? I'm considering the iSi442-500/40, with the Compact High Profile - MultiFit pivot base for the vehicle. I understand this is the recommended configuration for the Fortuner. Appreciate your comments.
Very informative...cheers mate from another fortuner buddy
Just ordered our 22 GXL Fortuner and now for the long wait! super impressive vehicle. Not sure why they Dont sell more of them unlike in the Asia where Fortuner is the biggest seller. Keen to see how she goes with your Jayco in tow as we might get something that size sometime. Cheers
@@GuestysAdventures did you have to upgrade your front springs when the bullbar went on?
In Latin America it's also a big seller
Hey bud :) another great video..... can I ask what are you using (Scan Gauge 2 I'm guessing?) to know the Transmission Temps and how do you know when temperature is too high (whilst towing)? Cheers, Don (Dons Shed and Xplor Overland, Perth WA)....... p.s. I'd love to see a video of you going through each of your Fortuners Mods, their cost, where you bought them from, why you got them etc
Great video bud :) I just bought a Feverish Red 2022 Fortuner GXL (with Leather Interior), so have subscribed so I can "borrow" some of your ideas for our car hehe. Hopefully you managed to get a few pics on the false floor build for your drawer system, as I'm not very mechanically minded and need to see how that was put together. I can't believe there are no tie down spots in the back of these cars!!! Cheers, Don (Dons Shed and Xplor Overland, Perth WA)
Thanks for the detailed video. Just picked up a new 2022 with the 4.0 petrol v6 (can't get diesel in the Middle East). Really struggling with accessories for the facelift model as you've mentioned.
Just ordered our gxl yesterday….
@@GuestysAdventures about 6 months wait but it'll be worth it ...cheers great video's
@@GuestysAdventures cheers pal
What suspension has Fortuner Aaron? Sits up really well mate
Also had a Jeep mate and have now own a fortuner best thing ever. In regards to the airbags we have a two inch lift and 200kg rated rear springs. It sits awesome Normally and when we tow our jayco hawke there is zero sag and sits beautifully. I also agree with the roof rack problem I have decided to mount a mulgo recovery track holder to our jayco the beauty to this is jaycos lack in outdoor bench space. So you have somewhere to mount the maxtrax out of the way and when you pull up at camp it folds down to make a table perfect place to prep the BBQ or more importantly somewhere to rest your beer. It looks very smart and let's face it you have a winch so you will probably only ever need the tracks when you are towing your van... food for thought. Good luck 👍
Good to see some accurate real life information. That forum can be a joke sometimes. Quick question. How did you fix the drawers into the bottom section?
I really enjoy your videos please keep them coming especially about your Fortuner. I've ordered one and keen for advice before hopefully arrives in Feb. Such as accessories that work well and work within weight limitations. Sensible upgrades.
hello bro.. nice set up.. can i ask what trailer hitch or towbar did u use that fits on toyota fortuner 2021? can u pls recommend me some of good trailer hitches or tow bars available on amazon right now. thanks.. nice video..
@@GuestysAdventures mate im sorry i dont get u there.. Actually i am really dont have idea , please help me choose any tow bar or trailer hitch for me, ? Actaully i dont have any idea what towbar or what towbar to but that wll fit in my sv, i dont know if i mistaknly choose the towbar that is not suitable for my fortuner, mybe its for car only.. I really dont have any idea.. Its my 1st car actually.
@@GuestysAdventures kindly pick one for me🙌🙌🙌
@@GuestysAdventures does toyota has website? if i search toyota in my place they wll direct me on our country toyota supplier which is no available accessories for my car.
What's the on-road ride quality like now with your upgraded suspension? I read somewhere that from factory the Fortuner had hard shocks, but soft springs
How stiffer springs did you go for in rear 150kg or 300?
Thanks for the video, went to my local Toyota dealer yesterday to have a look at the Prado and returned four hours later with a new Fortuner Crusade. Decision also based on the price. Now to start the journey of the upgrades,
Being a fellow Fortuner owner who tows a 1400kg camper trailer I'm loving your videos. One thing to note is that airbags don't redistribute weight from rear to front axles.
Does the Safari Snorkel block your view?
@@GuestysAdventures Thank you. 🙂
Your review is spot on. Thanks mate.
Thank you for the review. I love the Fortuner and am waiting for it to arrive in early 2022 (hopefully). Value for money.
Have you got it yet
@@Hillzy_Eighty7 No, I haven’t. Still waiting.
@@MotorEnthusiast just ordered mine before new years.Hoping its only an 6 month wait
@@Hillzy_Eighty7 Toyota AU or NZ is pretty good on delivery timeframes. Due to COVID there has been delays as factories in Thailand had to be shutdown for a while. But hopefully you get yours within the timeframe mentioned by your dealer. You could also get lucky if a customer, before you in the queue, with similar vehicle specifications as you have chosen, cancels their order. In this case the dealership can approach you and ask you if you are interested to receive that customers cancelled order. You have chosen you a good vehicle. Value for money.
Enjoying your videos. Question for you as I'm taking delivery of a Fortuner in couple of weeks. I will also be adding a modest lift to mine and considering changing tyres up to the 265/70r17 as you have done. Have you experienced rubbing when articulating off road, breaking, reversing etc? Did you notice a loss in acceleration / performance? Any other tips you have learned would be appreciated. Thanks and happy touring.
@@GuestysAdventures thanks very much for replying. Good to know from your personal experience. Happy travels 👍🏼
Hello Guesty, Great content. please keep it up. I am considering a fortuner but have never driven one before, How is the ride quality on the open road? is the suspension too firm as almost ALL of the car reviewers say?
Excellent video!
GCM is 5550kg?
We bought our GXL a few weeks ago and I love it and love driving it. (The problem with driving it with the CovID19 is that we can't go anywhere! I have to look at the owners manual to find the filler!) Anyway, I researched this to Hell and I have clear reasons for getting this one. It's my 6th Toyota (plus 2 Suzuki) and I generally kept them for 250 Ks. I was very interested to find out why you chose the Fortuner against the Prado. I had a hell of a job separating them. (If this discussion goes anywhere, I put my opinions to you.)
Great video , Table for the BBQ looks good, where can you buy those tables from ?
How long does it take to boil 500ml of water? 😂😊
Great video, thanks for sharing😊
Good video mate, we have a GXL, upgraded with a 2”lift and airbag suspension for towing (Airbagman HP airbags). Question: Where is your information coming from with regards to towing in Sport mode in gear 3? I seem to recall when I looked in the owners manual, there was nothing about what gears to use etc 🤷♂️
How are you mate,? great video. We have just bought a new fortuner and and about to buy a camper trailer. Where did you get your air bags fitted? I would like to talk to them about a eliminating the sag we will probably have. Cheers Damo
You may have posted this previously, interested in what size tyres you’ve put on the new tuna?
$44 a night for unpowered sites is getting a bit expensive. Has the campsite at Point Quobba closed? That used to be way cheaper than the station.
Nice series mate well done 👍
@@GuestysAdventures you’ll get there mate 👍
Love the pic of the tuna on I assume Cable Beach?
