A Week in London - Harry Potter Studio Tour, Tower of London, Notting Hill & more
After celebrating St. Patrick's Day in Dublin with all the girls, we headed to London for the week. While we were here we stayed at an Airbnb in Soho and went to a ton of different neighbourhoods. Starting off we went for dinner and drinks in Convent Garden and then the next day all the big tourist attractions such as Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace. My favourite part of the whole trip was the Harry Potter Studio tour which takes you through some of the sets used in the movies along with a ton of costumes and props (I went a little overboard with the footage I took so feel free to skip Day 4 if you are not a fan lol)
I hope you enjoy this vlog! London is such an amazing city with a ton of different activities to do and I can't wait to go back :)

I had the Scleral buckle surgery 3 years ago at 68 years old. I had 20/20 vision still...so I was very concerned. I also had the silicone oil. The surgery was not painful at all, nor was the recovery...except having to keep my head down for the first 7 days. That sucked. Six months later the oil had to be removed. That was considered somewhat risky...because the inside fof the eyeball needs to be rinsed. Afterwards, retina surgery often causes cataracts...clouding of the lense. I had cataract surgery as a follow up procedure (easy peasy to say the least). Three years later I have 02/20 vision...except I still have some distortion, crystal clear but wavy lines in the repaired eye. Scar tissue on my macula is the reason according to my surgeon. Not sure that will ever be remedied. Glad to have my vision though.

Whew- I guess so far I've been lucky. Surgery yesterday with the buckle and the gas bubble. Today after the surgery, the patch came off and there's very little to no pain at all. Not taking anything for pain either. I was half blind in my left eye from the sudden detachment. It's very blurry today and can only make out some fuzzy shapes kinda like when you open your eyes under water without goggles. PS- I love your long full blond hair.

I am glad you are recovering and have regained your eyesight. I went through similar experience. On Black Friday of 2022 I woke up with floaters on my right eye; a co-worker had had floaters and was treated with steroids and eye drops. That Sunday I woke up, and could not see out of my right eye. On December 22, 2022 I had eye surgery and had to sleep face down and keep my face down for a week. I had a gas bubble to maintain pressure on retina and it took roughly 3 weeks for it to go away. I immediately development a cataract and had corrective surgery in October of 2023. I currently can see out of my right eye but the vision is a soft focus. I will need some further procedures to try and improve vision; I hope to regain clear vision but I can see. Good luck to you and everyone out there that goes through this experience.

A Cricket ball hit on my right eye due to unawareness as other eye working I couldn't understand loss of vison in other eye so it delayed Maximum 4-5 years that eye started squint extropia then we went to a hospital doctors said it is a Rhegmatogenuous Retinal detachment and they did surgery and in the subsequent surgery they also removed silicone oil and catract was formed that surgery also done successfully and Vision restored to 20/100 Recently after 14 years again suddenly vision lost in the right eye due to same Rhegmatogenous Retinal detachment again retina detached so they did surgery and removed silicone oil within 1.5 month I don't know why again retina got detached so again RRD surgery done post this surgery Sudden IOP increase 54mmg and immediately visited Hospital they reduced it immediately and im thinking this iop increase is due silicone oil in the eye In the next visit retina doctor told me my optic nerve is weak and doctor is uncertain till we remove silicone oil she said But im thinking due to silicone oil it temporarily stopped optic nerve function Now vision in that eye is HM+ only After removing silicone oil Can i see improvement in vison? Any possibility for significant improvement??? Any other advancement to restore vison in this cases possiblity or hope of future? Address first question after silicone oil removal vison improvement possiblity as I told I have visited hospital immediately with 24-48 hours as pressure increase and managed IOP I'm using drops also now to control IOP it's under control As retina attached with silicone oil and my restricted to HM+ only I don't know what happened to optic nerve

June 28th left eye scleral buckle (emergency surgery) , right eye July 8 (scleral buckle - emergency surgery) and back into my left eye again July 16 for vitrectomy with oil! Now healing, my left eye I can see farther without glasses and my right eye my vision is the same before surgery.. I realized my prescription is different and will likely need to change (also I’m 23!)

Hi Lauren, I had a parallel experience. My biggest complaint was that the surgeon was only concerned about the retina staying attached. I had 3 surgeries, the last one 15 months ago and it was a scleral buckle. I had 20/25 prior to the surgery. For many months it was 20/50, then 20/40 and for the last 3-4 months 20/30 which is better than I hoped, as they thought 20/40 may be the best possible. I also seeked a second opinion because I saw waviness instead of straight lines. While the first surgeon was not concerned (again all he cared about being attached), on the first visit to the second surgeon, he told me that I had a wrinkled tissue under the retina which caused the waviness and no amount of drops would take care of it. I needed a surgery, but compared o the previous ones, this was much simpler and I had great results as 2-3 weeks after the surgery , 90% of the waviness was gone. I wish they would have done the scleral buckle after the first detachment, but they seem to do it in steps (not sure if insurance plays a part in it). I don’t know about you, but I literally have PTSD from all the detachments (3 in one and 2 on the other years ago) and I check my vision way too much, I even have a vision chart in my office!. I wish you the best!

I had my surgery at 22. It’s been almost a year since my surgery and since then it has been hard. I had a retinal detachment in my right eye and lattice deterioration in my left die so it took about eight months for me to even be able to drive again, and I was working for myself owning my own business, so that really put stress on me. I’ve always had issues with my eyes since I was born, but never in 1 million years what I think my very first surgery would be something as terrifying as an eye surgery. And just as you stated, my eyes still isn’t back to their original vision, it was at, but it will slowly get there.

I'm so nervous, and I don't know what to expect. My Surgery is on June 3rd...I have a 38-year-old daughter looking at a TH-cam video and will need help. Well, pray for me, and I hope I get my eyesight back. I would also like to say thanks for the video...

Hi Lauren! Hope you are doing well. I also had my scleral buckle surgery 10 days ago and the vision is still as it was before surgery. I have a dark shadow in the centre of my vision and when my left eye is closed I cannot see and identify things with my operated eye. Today at 10th day I visited my doc again and he said retina is attached and vision will come soon. However I feel scared because I feel that my sight has kind of worsened than what it was before surgery. Did this happen with you too?
