Still working?
Yes. 22 Months since installation and still working perfectly.
Thank you
You're welcome
Thanks! I just ordered two of these fans for my G-Raids. I guess they come with crappy fans!
What a great review! Now this is someone who puts times and efforts to help other people. Keep up the good work!
Much appreciated!
Hi, I have a questión, I bought one Kastar battery, I have no charger, so I put the battery in the camera and connected the camera to the electricity, and I was waiting for the camera to charge the battery, but unfortunately it didn't happen, my cuestión is The batteries that are no original canon need a charger from the same brand to charge? I need to buy the charger for the Kastar battery?
I have not tried a Kastar battery. The BP Premium battery does charge in the Canon XA40 camera, just like the Canon OEM battery when connected to AC power.
do you know if the proper power supply is 12v 4amps or 12v 5amps for a 8tb?
thank-you so much for this tutorial! I've got a few of these drives, and I thought I was shit out of luck with the one that was making noise. Did the fan swap, which was super easy, and it's working great! I'm gonna do this upgrade to my other drives too! Thanks again!
Glad it was helpful!
Very helpful! Thanks 😊

Its quite weird their website mentions no specs. No load limits or manual or anything. Wondering if they would handle a 337 kg (740 lbs) boat+engine weight.
You need to roam around a bit to find it, but the Beachmaster website does list load limits in the specification section. They recommend a working load of 220 lbs. (100 kg) per set and a maximum load limit 440 lbs. (200 kg) per set. My boat with motor and gear is a little over 200 lbs. and the wheel units are very solid. From my use, I believe they would well carry the Beachmaster recommended 440 lbs. I think your 740 lbs. boat would be a stretch. I am usually launching/hauling from a boat ramp with an incline and would not want to pull a boat too much more than 200 lbs. up the ramp. For me, the limiting weight factor is how much weight I want to pull up a ramp, not the wheels.
@@NettleReef Thanks for the reply. I also contacted True Kit, makers of Quiklok Dinghy Wheels and their representative said that 740 lbs is good to go for their set, however it would be impractical especially for a solo boater like myself. I was interested in pulling the dinghy up on the beach, even if just a little bit. I'd like to do some island hopping you see. Gonna use a block and tackle for leverage, with a sand anchor if no trees are nearby. Impractical but not infeasible. I'm fine with impractical. Upside is that I get to use a heavier boat for the hopping that handles weather better
Thanks so much! Contacted GTech that first said the fan wasn't warranteed, AND if I open it the warranty is void! After some back and forth they decided to not be so awful. They gave some instructions, which I followed. Then a long delay and finally more and complicated hoops to jump through. So I came here instead, where I should have started! Thanks! 🙂
Glad I could help!
Great job, I have a newer enclosure that looks exactly the same. I ordered the fan from amazon and have no doubt it will work great thanks to you!!!
Glad it helped
The fan that Amazon sent me is 24 V. Is there any concern with using this fan instead of the 12V version?
I suggest checking your current fan to see what voltage it is.
@@NettleReef I wanted to thank you for making this video, without it I don't think I would have tried replacing the fan in my drive. I had the same issue as yours, it was very loud, to the point were I could not use it and was considering replacing the drive. I ordered the fan you suggested. The first time they sent the wrong fan, it was not the correct voltage. The second fan was the correct voltage but the pins did not line up very well when I plugged it in. The directions showed how to hard wire the fan using by cutting the existing adaptor and wiring it to the supplied adaptor and that worked perfectly. Thanks again for making the video it was very helpful in resolving my issue.
Great work.
Love the wheels pity the beach master bunch in NZ refuse to ship them out to us in SE Asia. We tried a few years ago as well from Africa but got told we don’t ship there. …😢
Love it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks i will try these batteries. Used a Kastar brand and must have went defective. And it did not want to stay tight and would loose contection. It worked the first coulpe times. Also, my canon camcorders would not give a power level. I had great success with 3 prior Kastar batteries. They lasted a long time in my G40 and XA-20. 3300 mAh. Im using a canon XF-400 now. It totally sucks batteries down fast. I need more power. Lol thanks for the video
Thanks, have subscribed.
I like the True Kit Quicklok wheels better myself. Beachmaster get pretty sloppy as they age.
This is just what I'm looking for. Thank You!
Glad it was helpful!
too bad they wouldn't work on kayaks.. i wonder if there could be a way side mounted on a flip down mount... gotta think about this....putting a yak on a cart can sometimes be a real pain...
outstanding...nicely done
Thank you kindly
Thats been invented lmao iv hooked my 15hp like that just like that 7y ago an its in my back yard 😂😂😂😂
very cool. I might do the same thing I my 16' boat, but add a bike brake to throttle up and down with a return to idle spring and a kill switch.
Genius. Nice work sir.
Thank you kindly!
@@NettleReef..... You could add one more piece and another pivot point... And have a vertical stick that pushes forward and pulls back.... Pivot point would be about 1/3 up... Won't have to move the stick as far for steering.... May have to glue on another boat oar lock on the inner side of the tube..... But it's a great idea , reminds me of the linkage inside of RC airplanes....
Great video!
Thanks!
👏👏👏
These are really cool.. so's your little boat, and Cheers to your success 👍😎✊
hi, is the origin fan's pin is 2510 2pin?
This was awesome thank you !!!
Glad it was helpful!
Eley should make one like this. Their products are by far the best when it comes to hose reels.
Thank you so much for this intuitive video. I am installing mine this week (hopefully)
I have to commend you for an excellent presentation on the product, its installation and use. It was straight to the point while including useful details. Well done!
Nice video. What do you think of the durability of the pin on which the reel rotates? On the Liberty Garden website there is a video devoted to how to replace it. It may be a point of weakness which may not be a problem unless you use a very long hose, or it may be a point of weakness that is a constant frustration! Any opinions?
Thank you for your comment. I've been using it about 6 months with a 100 ft hose. No problem with the pin or anything else. I'm happy with it.
thanks!
Exactly what I was looking for. A straight forward video showing the install and use of the product. If you keep this quality up in your videos it will pay off eventually. Thank you!
THANK YOU - Exactly the video I needed, and I enjoyed your deadpan "delivery". I have a G-RAID 24 TB, formatted as raid 1, and it started making the same horror movie noise. After realizing from your video it was just a fan, I followed your steps exactly - great information, particularly about the polarity. At first I thought I messed up, because the replacement fan didn't spin. But I tested the old fan (unit open - a little dangerous), and it didn't start spinning for a little while after the G-RAID was in use. But then the replacement fan would repeatedly budge just a little bit, then stop. I finally removed the "Low Noise Adapter" piece, and finally it worked. So my solution required I didn't use that part. But maybe you can help me on another item: When I was debugging what was going on, at first I thought is was one of the drives. I took one out, and could still mount the G-RAID and see all my files on that drive. I did the same thing, and the 2nd drive also showed all my files. But after replacing the fan, I started the G-RAID up with both drives, and now there is a solid RED light on the outside - typically it is white. I think I confused the RAID-1 setup by individually spinning each drive up separately and now I don't know what to do. I just happened to purchase another G-RAID from SanDisk so before I try anything next, I'm copying all the files off the one in question. (I also have a BackBlaze backup, but want to be very careful here..) The GRAID Configurator utilty is saying things are running in "Degraded" mode and has a button to press to "REPAIR", but I don't want to press it until my backup is done. Do you have any ideas on what to do? Either way, thanks a million! Things are much much quieter now!
I resolved my question. NEVER re-mount a RAID-1 G-RAID with only one of the drives in it. It throws things out of sync and considers the G-RAID to be running in "Degraded" mode and the indicator light turn a solid RED. The only way to fix this was to use the GRAID Configurator app's "REPAIR" mode, which initialized one of the drives, then slow rebuilt it from the contents of the other drive. BTW, this process kept crashing, so I ended up reformatting the G-RAID to RAID 0 , then back to RAID 1 (losing all data). After the indicator light was WHITE again, I copied back all the contents which I had luckily stored on my 2nd G-RAID drive before messing with all this. ALL IS GOOD now, and the replacement fan works great! Thanks again.
Glad the video helped you out Ken. Thanks for the kind words.
@@NettleReef Thank you! The GRAID is and quiets, and not like a screaming banshee!
thank you! You saved me a big headache. I ordered your preferred unit from Amazon
Glad I could help!
Very helpful. . . only criticism is that I wish you had shown a better close-up of attaching it to the camera's battery holder.
Thanks Phillip
