there was a local bike shop in my hometown that sold a Ducati to a guy that never rode a street bike before, much less a Ducati. He pulled out of the parking lot and gunned the throttle and rocketed that bike and himself into the intersection and right underneath the trailer of a passing semi. the owner of that bike shop was found liable for selling a high performance machine to him, knowing his riding experience was limited to riding a 4-wheeler. He settled out of court and closed up soon after that.

This is why new riders need to ride alone. No peer pressure to do anything but learn
