Can I Beat The Library on Legendary Without Dying - Attempt 3
'The Library' is one of the most infamous levels in video game history. An endless maze of similar looking, dimly lit corridors filled to the brim with Flood, it made it's mark on history for it's sheer perceived difficulty. Most people who have played Halo at some point do not look fondly upon this level. Most hate it. Few like it.
I am one of the few that loves it, and not only that, one of the few that doesn't find it all that hard when compared to some of the other CE levels.
The question is... can I prove it's not that hard by beating it on Legendary without dying? (and without using cowardly hiding/skipping tactics) Let's find out for a laugh!
... and before anyone asks... no I will not attempt it LASO. I'm not willing to torture myself that much.

Man, this one is really eat my balls. When I tried to turtled on my base with only limited resources, Oleg just steamrolled me with tier 3 units and I got defeated really quick by the time he launched his Vacuum Imploder and attack my base at the same time 😂
You could do allied but you need to be able to supply enough money to pump out peace keepers from 3 barracks Non stop and use human wave attack.
A dojo rush would have worked
Dojo rushes are boring... And Im not good at micromanaging them. Plus it's more fun to have a challenge.

That works too. I just preferred to have a stable defence going first so I didn't have to worry about two things at once, hence the Pacifers.
The hardest part is to get harbingers

@@rolando9023 Man, I've tried using Harbinger Gunships, it didn't work because they just spamming MiGs and Bullfrogs on me. Even when I manage to build enough of them, they already have a lot of Bullfrogs and Migs and wrecked me completely.
@@davidmedicine121 then start with Apollos to keep the migs at bay and watch the bullfrogs, then use the gunships to target the ground anti-air units It's a tedious process, but very worth it in the end
how you put your army in line by showing their green shadows ? what's hotkeys for that move ?
Off the stop of my head, using a mouse, when you have a unit or units selected, hold both the left and right mouse buttons together and you should see the green highlights appear. Releasing the two buttons will move your selected units into wherever those green highlights are.

@@erener85 No problem. Ask away and I'll try my best to answer. To select all of the same unit that's on screen, such as all of the twinblades, I think if you double click one of the units to select it in quick succession rather than a single click, that should work. Map wide I'm not sure. Probably some hidden shortcut I don't know about though.

@@victorcaldera249 Ah that sucks. Superweapons are very good at crushing people's power. At least you won in the end. Made for an interesting match.
it took around 33 seconds to build one power plant and needed like 2 maybe 3 to repower my base
man i just beat this level today and i just want to go over the amazing time i had first run: i got crushed steel ronin and chopper VX’es suck second run: i fled to the water normally this would be a free win but the AI actually did something very smart they sent some jet tengus and landed them in my base impressive but no AI can outsmart a human third run: ok so first off i fled to the sea just like last time but this time i rushed a sentry gun and flak cannon on both mines the tengu attack came and just fell back but i assumed the ai would try sending in other units that could overwhelm my tiny defense so i built a literal brick of interlaced flak and gun turrets then i slowly grabbed all the other ore mines in the water and built up defenses aswell but i clearly overestimated the AI as no attacks came for my defenses not even one unit then i built up a massive line of flak behind shinzos base as he had built up lots of air units and i didn’t want to deal with that mess so i just obliterated them with a line of flak then i slowly picked apart both their bases one by one
Sometimes trial and error are the way to go until you figure out a good tactic. Nice work outsmarting the AI with a naval move! And yeah, those Steel Ronins are nasty! Useless when the player uses them, but vicious under AI control.
i managed to beat this one under par with this exact same strategy not gloating just want to see your reaction

i didn’t really play it safe just 5 choppers and 10 tengus just ambushed the mcv before they build any turrets
@@victorcaldera249 Getting those Tengus up as early as possible is the only real defence you've got in this one. I think I built one too many myself. 10 would have been more than enough.

@@sirloozelite9307 they are useful as a support unit to Tesla Troopers in a Tesla/Desol/Flak composition. I play a lot of Soviets and love conducting airlift ops bc AirLand battle is superior. Try taking 2x Tesla, 1x Desol and 2x Flak and putting them into a Twinblade that will then lift these units to battlefield. 2 Twinblades with ground army suddenly take less space and are much more nimble than tank groups or twinblade hives.
@@holyordersoftheemperorsinq246 That's not a bad idea actually. Could certainly be very useful for economy or power plant harressment as well. Soviet infantry tends to get underestimated due to how powerful it's rivals are. Just requires a lot of micromanagement and investment. If your twin blades get caught by AA they've had it.

And yet ironically enough I find him to be the most dangerous one in this challenge. He put up a good fight and took 2 Vacuum Imploder shots. But yes... Air force is OP in this game. XD
i tend to mass advanced base defenses at the ramp from the river which can melt down those grinders in seconds but i like playing more defensively so your strategy works as well
I generally prefer turtling up behind defences as well, but I wanted to show off the Shogun battleship a bit, so I went for that build instead. I was surprised at how easy this one was honestly. Oleg is usually a pain to go again.
What is your favorite faction?
I'm most comfortable with the Soviets, so I'd say them. Though the Allies are probably the best all round versatility wise. What's yours if you have one?
my ranking is soviets: i like big tough units like hammer and apocalypse tanks empire: chopper VX need i say more allies: mixed feelings very powerful units but only high in their tech tree but the building system can be a bit cumbersome at times especially when i forget to build power plants before starting and finishing the construction of a new building very annoying
@@victorcaldera249 I'd agree with that order myself. Nothing beats the Hammer and Apoc tanks. Except for air of course.

Thank you. I wish I could memorize those shortcuts. Only one I know is 'H' for the camera to move to the Con-Yard.
I was also a clicker. 😂 You can learn those keys as you play the game. Useful key in the game is "F" key which is the shortcut key for special ability of units so you can quickly use unit's special ability without clicking on it. Red Alert 3 was my childhood game and I feel nostalgic while watching your gameplay.

Honestly didn't think about moving my entire base to the ocean for this one! That could work as well.
i don’t even give the ai a chance to get out a single tower beyond their base i do it by rushing around 5 of the faction anti-armor units to the slope down to his base and just spawn kill all the cores
That's probably the best way to beat par time yeah. Flak troopers or Tank Busters would be best for that.

Yeah that really is the extent of it. Chopper rush seems to be the only thing that catches the Pacifers fast enough. Twin blades might work too.
i don’t think twin blades have enough anti-armor damage to kill the pacifiers before they kill your economy and severely wound your infrastructure
once again i always head straight for the water i hate dealing with athena cannons
I find hiding up in the corner bits with the bridges works better. Allied players have good naval control even with just Riptides, so hiding on the water is a risk.

That's usually what I do too, but I decided to take the risk and stay on land for once. The Kirvos are the only thing that pose a threat for sure.

agreed and don’t think of it as being a coward just think of it as a tactical reposition also yes staying on land is indeed suicide reapers are very scary

Glad you like it. I'll do my best to explain how to get the randomizer to work. So first things first you need a copy of Tomb Raider 1, 2 or 3 installed on your computer. I have the Steam versions. Download and install them. If you plan in running Tomb Raider 1, you'll need to install Tomb Raider1Main to get the randomizer to work, which can be found in the following link. github.com/LostArtefacts/Tomb1Main Once you have your game of choice installed, head over to this next link to download the randomizer software. Its completely free of charge and safe to use. The most recent version of the randomizer is V1.7.1 github.com/LostArtefacts/TR-Rando Within the page this link takes you to, you'll find an installation guide video of how to link the randomizer to the game of your choice. I used that and it seems to work just fine. Once you have followed all of the steps in the video, you should be good to go with the chaos. The randomizer works for the first three Tomb Raider games, and there is plenty of replay-ability to it as well due to the sheer number of things it randomizes. It feels like a whole new TR experience to me. I hope this is helpful. Good luck if you get it running, and have fun with it. :)
