INTACH CONSERVATION INSTITUTE
India
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 5 พ.ค. 2020
INTACH Conservation Institutes (ICI) was established with the objective to preserve heritage for future generations. The center has undertaken continuous study and research to develop the best methodologies in the field of conservation science in India. As a result it provides unmatched services in conservation for art collectors. The center has also worked towards spreading concern for our heritage by conducting seminars and workshops to spread concern for heritage conservation.
DIRECTORY OF WALL PAINTINGS
The 'Directory of Wall Painting' (WPD) is a project initiated under the Art and Material Heritage Division of INTACH since November 2015 to undertake survey and documentation of wall painting and rock art sites in India. Since its inception, the project has covered ten states, namely Delhi, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Haryana, Orissa, and Bihar.
The survey methodology includes discovering a site, analyzing the wall paintings, collecting basic information related to structure and paintings, observing their present condition and later inventorizing them. Both known and unknown structures that are more than 100 years old are considered for survey which is being done in collaboration with INTACH chapters and INTACH Conservation Institute (ICI) centres around the country.
Till date, three publications, i.e., 'Wall Painting Sites in Delhi, Rajasthan (Jaipur Edition) and Uttarakhand’ have been released and ‘Wall Painting Sites in Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh (Awadh region)’ are under process. Additionally, the WPD team has also released 'Directory of Museums in India (Fifth edition)’ - a compendium including information about 1186 museums existing across the country.
It is the need of the time that people come together for this cause of heritage preservation and hence, we urge everyone to join our movement of identifying and documenting wall paintings.

I ,as a student of BHU during seventies, have been fortunate to visit and sit along with Dr Anand Krishna while collecting an article on ' Kashi Ka Itihaas ' for Hindi periodical being published from Hyderabad, written by Dr Anand Krishna. I have been fortunate to interview Late Hon'ble Padmavibhushan Roy Krishna Das when Golden Jubilee celebration of BHU foundation celebrations going on, which was published in Aaj- a Hindi daily, being published from Kabir Chaura, Varanasi. I was very much impressed with the humble behavior of family of Roy Saheb. I am anxiously waiting for the materials to be shared on UTube, as disclosed in the above talk delivered by Hon'ble Dy Director , Madam Kaur, who updated me with her appreciable talk about Bharat Kalaa Bhavan, Varanasi. Thanks again.
