Thank you for your response. The issue isn't the name, but the teaching. The early church taught free will and universal atonement. It was not until Augustine brought his Gnosticism into the corrupted RCC. Later, Replacement Theology found a home in the anti-Jewish Reformation systematic. Today, we see the perpetuation of both of these erroneous teachings.

@@Hisgraceforall free will came out of the Epicureans. Just as natural determinism came out of the stoics. Both of those philosophical groups are mentioned in the Bible. The term used in the Bible is Christians. I don’t see anything wrong with that term.

@@Hisgraceforall the actual first time that the term “free will” was used was Augustine himself. He wrote an entire book on it. Did you mention this or teach this in your series?

For a review of what we discuss regarding origins of Augustinianism and free will, you can consult session three. Also, it might be pertinent to mention that the Jews as well as Gamaliel and Hillel (major influence over Paul) taught the sovereignty of God with personal responsibility and free will. It would be antithetical to Paul to teach otherwise.

@@Hisgraceforall then how come Paul never mention anything about Libertas thelema? And you’re saying Paul brought the Pharisee teachings into the church? Where does Paul even mention the word responsibility? Also, the first origins of free will trace back to Greek philosophy before the New Testament.
