    Very little mention of the wiring which is as important as fitting the hardware. JBR

      Hello thank you for your feedback. The diesel heater we purchased was pretty well plug and play. The only real hard wiring was the positive and negative wire to the battery which is fused

    Hey!! Awesome video. We think we have exactly the same issue. Are your tanks linked and the pump just pulls from one?

    • @thevettes_

      Hey. They are linked but we believe the pump pulls from both

    Why not mount the fuel tank outside the caravan?

    • @thevettes_
      @thevettes_ 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s designed to be mounted inside

    Why not reverse the air inlet so it takes in air from the caravan interior?

    • @thevettes_
      @thevettes_ 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It currently has a inlet inside the van, the one coming from outside is to ignite the combustion part

  • @shayman6521
    @shayman6521 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey man, we thought we were having this exact issue with our 2018 Nova Bravo that we’ve just purchased because we would put the hose in to fill the two tanks the point it was overflowing out of the filler hole just like yours BUT then we’d go inside and tank 2 was still showing empty according to the sensors…however we went back outside to see both tank overflows on top of each tank were spitting out water as though they were completely full. So then we opened both tanks to empty them one by one to ensure they were both full of water, and they definitely were. But our issue is, once tank 1 runs out of water, tank 2 does not feed through at all and still shows empty (even though it’s full). Because of this we can only be off grid for 4 days at a time living off tank 1. Any ideas on how to get my tank 2 feeding water to the caravan again? Or why my sensor is saying that it’s empty? I desperately want to go off grid longer at any given time but I can’t get tank 2 flowing into the van after tank 1 finishes. Both taps for each are open and should supposedly be flowing. Our tanks have a T-section joined inlet and breather. What’s your thoughts on our whole situation?

    would a 3-way valve worked at the T junction instead of installing a new filling port? switch the valve, fill one tank, switch it again and fill the other?

    • @thevettes_
      @thevettes_ ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi it would possibly work, it would just mean you have to climb under the caravan each time you fill it, sometimes when filling it on the road the ground can be quite wet or dirty

  • @haydenlaird8228
    @haydenlaird8228 ปีที่แล้ว

    Awesome mate thank you, i have the exact same van! and have just bought a diesel heater, so i came looking for install ideas so this was perfect! i was going to try and wire it into the BMPRO battery management system but just going straight to the battery looks a lot easier!. the only thing missing from this video is a bit more footage of the wiring and the install of the fuel tank.

    When you initially installed the heater all the wiring went down through the floor but when you showed us under the van the wiring was not there. What did you do with it? does it come out somewhere else? Cheers

    • @thevettes_
      @thevettes_ ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, the only section of wiring that went through the floor was for the fuel pump. The remainder of the wiring stayed inside the under bed compartment as it was all close to the batteries Cheers

  • @bradleymarshall5591
    @bradleymarshall5591 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice video. Kind of worrying that the floor of your van is made of wood! Not even a metal layer on the bottom of it? That's shoddy as hell

    • @wigs1098
      @wigs1098 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pretty common on a lot of caravans. Also old cars back in the day had wooden floors exposed to the elements, they survived well enough, not shoddy at all, just common practice and it saves weight.

      @@thevettes_ ..My unit came with 2 plates and I naturally assumed that it was to form a sandwich type affair with all the pipes etc running through BOTH of them. With sealant on both plates Inside & outside, there would be little chance of water damaging your floor, whereas now, there is not much chance of escaping damage as water will soak your exposed timber floor timber, regardless of the bit of paint you put on the cut surfaces. I was just going to fit a mesh type opening to the interior of the van for the intake at the opposite end of the heater, as all it is doing is recirculating the air already in the van, with the fresh air coming in from below.
