You don't mention the episode number or the air-date of this episode in the name of or even in the description of this video. Also, the audio cuts out at about 9:47 & lasts for(ever) a while... It starts to fade, eventually, at about 14:50. It becomes virtually imperceptible for that period of about 5 minutes. While I realize that you likely did this intentionally to mask the ul from YT's copyright law enforcement, this makes this video pretty much worthless; jus' sayin'...
I have the entire marathon on VHS! it was the only way to watch Star Wars for a number of years for a lot of people. its a damn shame they never released this for sale because all of the VHS copies (mine included) just aren't that great quality. This was the only way to see the original 35mm version at home in letterbox format, and now its impossible to buy this version because all current versions have insane edits from Lucas
Oh My Gawd! When the Sci-Fi channel was actually science fiction.
Personally, as a lifelong casual fan of nearly all things "Star Trek," I enjoyed the "DS9" episode of "Trials and Tribble-ations" more than the godawful "Voyager" episode of "Flashback" because George Takei and other guest stars from the 1960's original series were given limited appearances and I blame the producers for not giving them more time in it anyway. So sad when such an opportunity was wasted already during was then the 30th anniversary of The Original Series.
Brings back some childhood memories ☺
ENGINEER: "So, where should we start?" O'BRIEN: Well obviously the first thing we should do is to take this transtator here, and.. (The lights go down) O'BRIEN: And leave it exactly as it is." They did a amazing work with this crossover, it really feels like that the DS9 crew was on the ship & it´s definitely one of the best episodes ever.
Very nice interview. Good job Bryant Gumbel.

RIP Carrie
Star Wars became the number 1 film again due to the special edition, then Titanic overtook it.
There are white people in the tv ads... so retro!
Surprise Jim
Anybody try calling one of the 1-800 numbers from the commercials... Just to see if they still work? 😁
The ads are interesting, technology was still low with the birth of the internet being revealed.
Great to learn how they made this masterpiece
Si lo vende cuanto vale ese lanroved y que modelo es el beiculo
The Enterprise wasn’t exactly accurate the lower sensor dome is much too big it should have been a little smaller
Any chance you can upload the rest?
As soon as I can the rest of the tapes. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for watching.
As a matter of fact, that is my birth movie. Birth movie means it came out in the year you were born.
I remembered that all 3 movies are on Disney plus.
Back when Star Wars was magical and the cast was alive. Now the cast has begun passing away and Star Wars is a joke.
R.I.P Carrie Fisher 😢
Happy 35th Anniversary, Baywatch.
“Star Trek: Deep Space Nine will continue in a moment”
I wish they had cut out the commercials and that strange bit at the beginning.
Thanks for this it's been helpful with my depression
Is the Sci-Fi Channel related to the SyFi channel?
The Sci-Fi Channel launched in 1992. Rebranded to SyFy in 2009.
I really miss the 90's, wasn't the best personally living in the them but TV was helluva lot better then
DS9 just has the best writing out of every show. And the effects on this episode were wayyyyy ahead of their time.
johnny
Others have already said it, but these commercials are an amazing throwback
DS9 was truly some of the greatest Trek ever.
You know, I always wondered if there was a thought to go back to the trouble with tribbles episode and put the new footage in the background, so the new actors are there in the 60s but the plot never deals with them... retconning the episode. Just thinking out loud.
That’s a great idea 😆
I remember when this episode came out! So weird that they did this for a 30th anniversary, and now it is almost 30 years since this DS9 episode came out!
29 years from T&T they made the DS9 TwT... now 28 years later we're watching it
And here we are almost 30 years later!
Too bad the sci fi channel choose to abandon their core audience
This is certainly a fascinating historical "snapshot". I long wondered how the Sci-Fi Channel debuted because it was not available in my town for several years. I'm getting a bit "long in the tooth" at 61 years, so I honestly can't recall when it was added, but I "think" it was not until a mere few months before the Sci-Fi Channel debuted "Mystery Science Theater 3000", meaning it was 1997. So I missed the first few years when it ran "classic" shows like TOS Trek, "Lost in Space", and other vintage series from the 60s and 70s. I had the same experience with several other niche programming cable channel. My town delayed getting MTV, Cartoon Network, Comedy Central (meaning I missed the entire run of MST3K there). It's so cool to see these original "bumpers" and promos for programming. Thanks for the upload!
This is great. I recorded this off of the Sci-Fi channel when it first aired, but I missed the first segment of the show. So this is the first time I've seen the first few minutes of it.
And VHS took those coffee stains away.
Thomas DeFresco at 39:50 and 1:22:45 @tdefresco
WHY WOULD 62 CHILDREN LIE?!?!
speaking of 30 years ago its almost 30 years since this was first broadcast.
Ahhh... the commercials. Man and woman. The way it should always be. U miss those days.
Didn't know Klingons were from the planet Klingon lol😂
18:35 Whoops! back than they noticed issues with the old TOS footage, as we do now with DS9 footage :)
@analog video achieves, can you give me a list of short horror films from year 1970 to 1990 similar to Living dolls where female mannequins come to life in wearhouse.
Hard to believe it's now been 29 years since this documentary (and the technologically ground-breaking DS9 episode whose making it chronicles) was first put on the air. TWENTY. NINE. YEARS. And as George Takei predicted, many of them *were* still around to see Star Trek's golden anniversary in 2016. Still one of my favorite episodes of ANY Star Trek TV series.
What’s even crazier is how that technology has now handcuffed the show to remaining in the standard def world. Episodes like this are why it would be 1000x more complicated and expensive to remaster DS9 in HD than even TNG was.
Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part, but Terry seemed genuinely into it ^_^
And I remember the preview, seeing her in that micro-mini….
Thanks for showing these great memories from the Sci-Fi Channel
