The best scenic drive.

What a great drive! Just last week, on our way to visit friends in Lee, MA, my wife and I drove north on Rte. 7, through Great Barrington, and then through that very same intersection of Routes 7 & 102 at the Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge. Wonderfully picturesque. As you were heading south on Prospect Hill Rd. (then Pine St.) in Stockbridge, I almost expected you [to continue] to head south on Rte. 7, past the Red Lion Inn, directly to Great Barrington. I am glad that you didn't and that you chose to head west on Rte. 102 instead! A wonderfully picturesque and enjoyable ride!

Was in Lenox in April of this year. Lots of great restaurants!

In many respects that depicted as picturesque scenery (architecture) reveals something about the isolation, individualism, and loneliness of its present though unseen year-round residents. The few who are out and about, either at the earliest, or latest hours are tourists driven to absorb, inhale, bear witness to, and live, if only temporarily, in a peaceful, judgement free atmosphere otherwise taken for granted by those who call it home. A community is much more than measure of latitude, longitude, antiqued architecture, gardens and greenery. Provincetown is an idea, collective of the few economically capable of evading intolerance, stupidity, ignorance, and worse elsewhere on the planet, a refuge warranting nothing less than round-the-clock celebration.

Pittsfield, MA is a small Libtard Dump in Dopey western MA. Albany is a much larger Dump in Dopey NY. So what's the point? I'm embarrassed to have lived in both of these places. Trump 24 !!!

I lived in Amherst while working on a project on the UMass campus, thanks for sharing this drive as on weekends I would take similar drives around the state. I was thankfully there long enough to stay through Autumn and I miss it terribly.

😢 I was a inner-city kid and I met this beautiful young lady from an educated family me and her became a couple she went to Mount Holyoke college here and I was in my junior year of high school she exposed me to this place and there was never a problem I stayed there on the regular there was never any problem I was always welcomed I would go to class with her etcetera this morning me to attend college and go on now to retire from my state job and living very comfortably but this was the growing years and the years that molded me for now it was all God's plan and I'll know if we get those times with her walking that campus going to parties walking up to the Town store I am playing spoons in a room full of women in nightwear but she was right beside me and nothing ever happened and never crossed my mind they were educated SMART girls and showed me firsthand how you can have fun but still get the job done 👎👍💪😁❤️🇺🇲

Former Williamstown native here (now out near Seattle). I had no idea about this route to Noho out of Lenox. When exactly was this recorded? I know there was a decent storm back there about 2 weeks ago.

I've always loved how the ecology of the high plateaus of the Berkshires is noticeably distinct from the lower elevations. You go from temperate broadleaf forests to conifers, shrubs and cold marshland, more similar in character to the Canadian territories than the rest of New England. If you turn north onto Route 8A in Windsor at 24:30 and head towards Savoy, it's even more noticeable.

Thanks for your Western Mass let's drives, it's nice to see my stomping grounds recorded for posterity. Nice route too, used to be part of my commute. I'd like to request more of Holyoke, it's a fascinating city architecturally as you go from The Highlands to West Holyoke to downtown. If you do, please try to capture some of the area around WIsteriahurst Museum, it has some of the prettiest houses in the city.

Is the Berkshires a great county to live in?

That's a lovely town you got. Here in central Russia it's mostly the same, a little bit of snow in April and cloudy sky.
