Hey, 8th grade clarinet player here. Can you give me some tips to improve on my instrument? Especially tips with rhythms and moving my fingers fast.
The biggest tip I have for complicated rhythms is just taking everything slow until you can play it perfectly (I’m sure you’ve heard this). When increasing the tempo, try not to tense up your embrasure and keep your fingers relaxed. Another extremely important aspect is to make sure you have strong air support, especially in passages that require fast tonguing.
