if she is still in Mada, the best visa is the K1 visa. a lot of times if a person dont have an international travel history, they are rejected on tourist visa, and a spouse visa can take a long time to get your wife here.

@@Kable472 anything is possible, but i did not look into that option. a Malagasy at the embassy said the fastest way to get my now wife here was the k1 visa. i used that option and it was worth it.

i bought the zebu, and gave her brothers some money as tradition. my fiancee was tight fisted with my money so it was not much. the zebu cost me $450 USD, i didn't pay for the ceremony. the family gave us money, but it wasn't much. i let the mother keep it. I just had to get there. Im sure i spent extra, though, maybe $1000 USD total, including traveling to the ancestral land for the ceremony

i wouldn't know if that would be an issue. the criminal history, from what i understand, is to see if there are signs of abuse and/or potential human trafficking. the crimes you mentioned, if already paid with time served, should not be an issue. just make sure and follow the advise i gave on the application process. you and also ask an immigration lawyer about it under the guise of possibly starting the process.

@@sethlover1211 Just re-reading this. They don't mention anything on the USCIS website about having to have any documents notarized. I just sent my I-129F to USCIS on Thursday, June 20. I hope that's not a requirement because I didn't know about it.

@@UrbanGuitarLegend i lost a lot of months because statements were not notarized so in the mean time while you are waiting, get those documents notarized and ready to go just in case they send it back to you for more info. they basically told me they couldn't tell me what they would accept. i had to pay a lawyer for that information.

@@sethlover1211 Will do, I'll go ahead and get some letters notarized for just in case. I sent my application on June 20th and USCIS cashed the check on June 27. We'll see how it goes.

i was told k1 was faster. heard a lot of horror stories with marrying first. it can take a decade that way is what i was told.

@sethlover1211 OK, got it. Yeah, I've been following a lot of law channels of immigration lawyers on TH-cam to get a feel for the process. I've heard that under normal circumstances, it can easily take 18 months. So 2 years (or more) would not be strange. I'm taking my first trip to Madagascar 🇲🇬 in a few weeks.

i got 2.5 years off both. the round one would have lasted longer, but a kid poked a hole in it. the really gig one is still going strong. i had to make a harness to support the weight and give it a second layer of skin.
