Some people will take old CVC helmets like that and convert them into "high-cut" tactical helmets, like those fancy Ops-Core or Team Wendy helmets you see all the high-speed tacti-cool kiddies using these days. Personally, I'd stick with a full-cut ACH rather than leaving the whole side of my head exposed.

I recently got a PASGT helmet and I'm considering getting a set of BDU's and making my own Cold War-era US loadout, though I think I'd go with the LBV-88 instead of the ALICE suspenders, since that would give me an extra 6 rifle mags and 2 grenades in addition to the ALICE pouches on the pistol belt. Will probably skip the PASGT vest since those things are getting increasingly hard to find in decent shape, and finding one to fit a big guy like me is like finding a damn unicorn.

So, I'm more into the monarchist version of german history (1871-1918)... there were many other german states besides prussia, saxony, bavaria, wurttemberg, mecklenburg, oldenburg, etc... the colored piping along the cavalry uhlan uniform you got always didn't represent the waffenfarbe or corps colours but the regiment they were raised from; also the visor cap had two versions, the fluffy version were the metal wire wasn't placed in the cap and the stiff version with the metal wire but it was always a preference for officers. There were two cockades on the imperial cap with the bottom with the state cockade they were from and the top cockade with the tricolors indicating the national cockade, it was even implemented during the weimar republic era when the reichswehr replaced the duestches heer or "german army"... pretty good though...

I bought most of what this guy has, including the plates. But I got the modern plate carrier with a quick release cable. It's not very comfortable, I should have gotten the same plate carrier as him.

I would personally suggest using MARPAT for a Marine of this era or later, to keep from being mistaken for an Army soldier since MARPAT was phasing out the 3-color DCU's in the Corps during this time, while the Army wouldn't start rolling out the 1st-gen ACU's en-masse until a couple years later. That and/or a coyote tan IBA would make sure people know what branch you're representing.

Ive been buying from epic for several years now, ive always been very happy with the value for money!!, i have a dot 44 tunic, ive worn it to work over the wintdr, its been washed dozens of times, and has faded nicely, the H.B.T cotton material is good quality and wears well, ok, so maybe its not 100 per cent accurate for films or reenactment, but only the button gestapo will complain😂, for vintage style old school cool it is pretty impressive.
